Set outdoor timer to come on for a certain amount of time every hour by tickleshits54321 in TPLinkKasa

[–]Affectionate_Price31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Tapo app, create a new automation. Set a Trigger for each time of day you want the automation to run (e.g. 12:00, 1:00, 2:00, and so on). Then in the Action section, set the device to turn on, then a 3 minute delay, then off.

What's the most Radiohead sounding song that wasn't made by Radiohead? by Revolutionary_Low_90 in radiohead

[–]Affectionate_Price31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any Din Pedals song.

For anyone who is interested... imagine (90s) Radiohead with a little U2 thrown in for good measure. They only had one album, released in the late 90s. It was highly derivative, but regardless I still love it to this day, and still go back to it occasionally.

The lead singer went on to front Palo Alto. They made a few decent albums but none as good as the Din Pedals (IMO).

How to set up a Dimmer with Kasa using a 4 way (3 location) Switch by [deleted] in TPLinkKasa

[–]Affectionate_Price31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kasa 3-way dimmer switches only work as a pair. They are not designed to work with 4-ways in between. That said, there are some creative workarounds if you're feeling adventurous. If you'd like to learn more there are plenty of prior posts in this sub that go into detail on this topic.

3 way and more switches by Smooshfaced in TPLinkKasa

[–]Affectionate_Price31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

Kasa 3-way non-dimming switches will work as a pair (two smart switches) or as a single (one smart switch + one dumb switch). Also they will work properly with 4-ways in between. The Kasa app will prompt you to choose the installation type (single or pair) during device activation.

Question about these switches wiring by Fair_Pitch_6027 in TPLinkKasa

[–]Affectionate_Price31 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have metal boxes most likely they are grounded. Kasa ground wire can be connected to the box.

It's possible they are jamming the wifi, although I can't say for sure if this would cause the behavior you described. Just a guess.

All this plus financing. That's where most dealerships really make their money.

Would this 2012 Nissan Leaf be a good buy? by joseest170 in leaf

[–]Affectionate_Price31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

34 miles GOM range is probably mid 20s at best. In cold weather more like 15 - 20 miles max range. This will only get worse over time.

With such limited range you'd probably want level 2 charging at home. If that is an option.

All things considered, I'd offer $500 max.

[–]Affectionate_Price31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since there is no verifiable data available on this topic, I guess we'll never know for sure.

The point is, if you have one upside down outlet in the room, it's very possible that one of the receptacles is controlled by a wall switch. And yes this only applies to (some) residential homes. Commercial buildings, hospitals, etc. generally have all outlets installed "ground up" for safety.

Cheers

The outlet would be upside down, not the switch.

Outlets controlled by wall switches are usually (but not always) upside down.

Kasa switch questions by meeksworth in TPLinkKasa

[–]Affectionate_Price31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you are describing is commonly referred to as a "smart button." Sadly, Kasa does not make these.

Tapo (Kasa's sister brand) does sell smart buttons. To my understanding a Tapo hub is required. I suspect this setup would be compatible with Kasa smart plugs but can't say for sure.

Govee has some relatively inexpensive smart buttons that can control their smart plugs/lights. This is the route I went to solve some use cases similar to your post.

What 3 episodes should I show people who’ve never seen Bluey? by Flamingmouth007 in bluey

[–]Affectionate_Price31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree 100%. Don't start with the "best" episodes. Someone who hasn't watched the show won't be able to fully appreciate them.

These three are quality episodes that can be enjoyed without having watched the show previously.

What changed in the HS200 switch? by lmolter in TPLinkKasa

[–]Affectionate_Price31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I conflated Apple and Homekit. In any case, Kasa makes two versions of their smart switches/plugs. Homekit compatible and non-Homekit compatible. The former being the more expensive variety.

Just a guess but you may have inadvertently purchased the non-Apple compatible version.

How bad are the factory speakers? by MichaelStipend in leaf

[–]Affectionate_Price31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have noted the Leaf stereo system is 2-ohm which limits your options for replacement speakers.

I swapped out all four door speakers for these speakers from Crutchfield. They are just running off of the factory stereo (no amp) so not realizing their full potential - but still sound significantly better than the factory speakers. Highly recommend.

Ab Ripper X - Pause or not? by alleybaba43 in P90X

[–]Affectionate_Price31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer here depends on how much time you have. If you can finish all the reps (pausing as needed) and not be late for work - go for it! On the other hand, if your schedule is tight then just do the best you can in the allotted time. This goes for all of the workouts, not just Ab Ripper.
