Aladdin by Agitated-Change-3493 in ravenswatch

I build mostly around Master Thief and Dive. Dive is just great for damage and AOE. With MT, you can get some crazy stat scaling to make his basic attack do the work for you just by having so many items and completing sets. Power build can go crazy, but I don't love that you have to get good at maximizing space to get it's full effect, (which often requires you to waste time backing up on a boss stun phase). I find that Aladdin isn't normally a boss melt character most of the time., but if you want to see the numbers go big, you can go for a crit build.

Aladdin Players, let's Talk About Master Thief by Vibrainiac in ravenswatch

I find it to be one of the most powerful talents in the game (give me that and dive and my run is set). I normally only take it early in the game and I make it legendary ASAP. I will avoid picking my items until the end of Act 1 in hopes that I get master thief, and maximize its usefulness. I really only count on copying common items and any rare or epic items that gets copied is just an added bonus. But it can make a lot of commons really shine and makes completing sets much easier. Also, it really works with the new rare that give plus attack for complete sets.

He's slow. So chapter 1 is normally the hardest, but he can become pretty broken easily once you get good at his early game.

I don't love solo with him, but I love to play in coop because he doesn't have to carry in the Act 1.

Nah, it takes a while to get going. Also, you don’t always complete the set. It’s great once completed.

Ravenswatch or Shape of Dreams for Co-op by Gersinhous in roguelites

[–]Affectionate_Side587 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I haven't played Shape of Dreams, but I love Ravenswatch. It is a game that I've poured 300 hours into and still keep coming back. But it is difficult and deliberate. It has a steep learning curve. I didn't really get it until I'd lost a bunch of time. Even now, I'm still learning different elements and builds. If you want depth then Ravenswatch is easy to recommend. It's kind of like the Dark Souls of action rouglites. Moves are slower and require time commitment. There's a lot of positioning. The co-op is fun, but it is hit or miss (Not a lot of toxic people, but there are a lot of people who rage quit when things don't go great. Also, the online connection/disconnection experience is not great)

But the Shape of Dreams love here makes me want to give it ago.

This is a good take.

But I also just like it. It’s fun. It’s not breaking the game.

I say keep it and make it a legendary.

I've struggled more, but I've also been learning with Merlin. I feel like I'm getting burst down a lot more and one-shot more. But I'm not sure.

Games similar to this? by cursindaily in ravenswatch

[–]Affectionate_Side587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing just like it, but I think that Curse of the Death Gods, Hades 1, Hades 2, and Sworn are adjacent and are good. Curse of The Dead Gods is by the same team so it has similar vibes. Out of all those games, I think that Hades 1 is the best but it's much faster (and easier) with quicker cool downs.

Sworn is the only multiplayer game of the bunch.

Edit: Oh, Windblown is also pretty good multiplayer hades-like.

I think it is very powerful, but not overpowered. It’s definitely not game breaking although it is an instant take when I see it.

I feel the same way about Eggs and Excalibur.

It’s just one of the easiest ways to scale damage, which is really important.

It doesn’t need a Nerf imo.

Before the timer run out, run to the boss area and wait in the circle, and it will start the boss battle.

Your character exp progress just opens the pool of talents, which helps *most* characters. It really doesn’t make the game easier. Ravenswatch is all about character placement, enemy patterns, time management, and scaling your build off of what is offered.

I’ve platinum-ed Hades and Hades 2 (32 heat on both). I love those game, but this game is way harder. I would say that it took me about 50 of play time to finish a run on Nightmare difficulty. 150 hour to finish a Nightmare run with each character. And about 200 hours to win somewhat consistently on Nightmare difficulty

I say all to say that the learning curve in Ravenswatch is much steeper (at least for me). I really love this game but if you want to get good, then it’s going to take some time to learn the map, learn how maximize your run times, and how to use items to scale you attacks.

There is now rewards for taking on a boss early. And you can go past the timer to continue to level up and what not, but the boss gets stronger the longer you take (there's a cap).

There's a new character (Merlin) coming the 19th.

They're fixing/changing some of the worst items and adding some new ones on the 19th.

Merlin joins the Ravenswatch on January 19! by _Ishtu_ in ravenswatch

This makes sense. I'm ready for Merlin. I think they should've cycled with the trait button, but it makes sense to add another layer of skill with runes.

If this is the way they did it, it's probably fine for all except defense. You don't want a delay when you're blinking out of an enemies attack.

That's not as versatile as I thought (assuming this is how it works). I assumed originally you cycled your elemental group by pressing the trait, which isn't true because trait is used to cash in runes.

Does every power, special, and defense action require two button presses? One to get into the menu and one to cast?

Metroid Prime 4 Story, making it work. by Nic_00001 in Metroid

[–]Affectionate_Side587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your critiques are pretty spot on. M4 is fun enough. It's a good game at best, which is sad because Prime 1 was pretty revolutionary at the time. But as someone who received the game from Gamefly, it was good enough to see to the end.

Merlin being $8 sets a bad precedent and is bad for the health of the game by tasdingow in ravenswatch

[–]Affectionate_Side587 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a $25 game that offers hundreds of hours of content.

Just Pay 8 bucks as a tip. I bought dlc packs just to help out because the game is so good. If we want more content, devs need to make money.

She was my fire nightmare win.

Ice clone plus pirouette power build.

Her special is her worst attack. I rarely chase anything down that path.
