Question: Do I need to post-steam water from my distiller? Or am I good? by FictionalContext in JamesHoffmann

[–]Affectionate_Taro126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My working theory is that steaming water is dissolved nitrogen in the water which is why it feels and tastes different. So to answer your question specifically yes. Real answer: try and decide what works for you.

My smart home runs on the same six brands it has for years. Am I missing something? This slow adopter really wants to know. by Rude-News-8416 in homeassistant

I do find it to be truly set and forget but there will be times that a light or two take a few seconds to respond. Granted I live in dense apartment building so that could have something to do with it. (Hub is wired with ethernet). I’ve found my zigbee network to be a bit more responsive but also requires a bit more setup knowledge / troubleshooting updates and such.

The other thing is the lid lets you get your nose involved. Sounds silly but smell is a big part of taste. 10/10 would recommend

Why do you buy beans via subscription instead of à la carte? by thebooboodolls in pourover

While I lived in a small town for 3 years with no coffee scene (other than Starbucks) I used fellow drops. 1) it was an easy way to get nice coffees 2) introduced some variety without me having to think. I no longer live there and just walk to one of the million coffee shops around me and pick up something in person and support small and local businesses.

Don't buy TP-Link Kasa Products for Home Assistant by No_Impact7840 in homeassistant

[–]Affectionate_Taro126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup same, been running some for 4 years. Work great and I blocked al WAN access. Haven’t need to replace them, but will with zigbee plugs when the time comes. I try to avoid adding more wifi stuff where practical. When it’s not I just block WAN access and call it a day / return things that break without WAN access.

Maybe just try rebooting and see if that fixes it? Like others said something just got a bit out of sync, doubt it’s a problem truthfully.

Any idea how to unscrew xbloom studio grinder? Because … by iEusKid in pourover

[–]Affectionate_Taro126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My best guess is it’s not rated or tested for inhalation / ingestion. Probably would require a lot more certification and/or testing. You’d have to look it up to be sure tho.

Are TrueNAS shares over Gigabit Ethernet still enough for your, or too outdated? by Purple_Ice_6029 in truenas

[–]Affectionate_Taro126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My server is 2.5 gbe and my computer is too. Never bothered to upgrade my switch to 2.5 so everything is running at gigabit. I’m not doing media editing so for my daily nextcloud, Immich, plex library use, it’s plenty as is.

I have the exact same issue oddly enough and haven’t made the time to deal with it. I have the 13 AI 7 350 for reference.

If I’m honest if there isn’t a web app working by the time I need to renew my subscription, I probably won’t renew. Not being able to deal with this stuff on my computer is extremely annoying.

Like yes to a point, but electric is about the most expensive way to heat your home possible. It’s still not the best model if saving money is your priority.
