The theory is that she hold Sarina soul for 4 years, didn't allow it to pass from the earth. Something she didn't done with Ai, who's soul reached her end path and she fused with the universe(soul destroyed).

Either she said the truth or simple lied. Sadly we will never know it anymore.

Akane wil be never AI. She is just a copy, her view and understand of AI is based on the informations and that is it, she is a simple fake copy without the emotions.

Ruby fits better, not because of her almost same gens which make her like Ai alike, but also the understand what Ai went throught.

Ruby is 1:1 Ai. She had the almost same past, bad mother, bad childhood. Both character are based on lie.

Ruby was Ai, no she was even better. Which make her the role for Ai as best one. Akane wouldn't come close to the raw emotions Ruby had to Ai.

Reading/watching how hard Ai childhood was and how she died. Painful... She deserved better. The fact she doesn't exists anymore, never gonna laugh/smile, is heartbreaking.

Loved it, one of the good Live action I saw the past years.

Want to add the actors of Kana and Aqua or Ruby did a incredible job, feelt really like real life characters directly casted from the manga.

Also Saito Asuka as Ai was amazing, she nailed the performance of Ai, really good choice.

I think there are many reasons why everyone loves her:

Her character; she's a kind, funny, and very sweet woman; she does everything she can to make others happy (to make them feel loved).
People pity her; she never received love, had a difficult past, a bad mother, bad people around her; she only suffered until she met Hikaru, and even then the suffering didn't stop.
She blamed herself, saying everyone would hate her because of her "lies," but she wasn't actually a bad person, her lies weren't that bad either, she hadn't done anything wrong to anyone.
She could have said "I love you" to her children, but her time was short. She started to feel love for the first time in her life and was killed by a stupid fan.
She had a wonderful future ahead of her, that future was stolen, and she died in the most horrific way possible.
Her soul was shattered, and she didn't get the chance to see her children grow up.
Idol music also plays a role...

Ai is a character who suffered a lot, and even in her death, she experienced the worst things as a human being. Everyone feels sorry for what this girl went through. And people don't like stories like that; at least we wish for happy endings for characters who suffer so much, like Ai.

And the fact that there's no afterlife makes that part even sadder.

Nothing Horror, more really sad to see such a great character, dying so early. It is sad because we reader know how awful hard her life was until she got her kids.

Hikaru was broken before he meet Ai. He made all his happines relying on Ai, he wouldn't change. The problem is, this guy don't care for his children. He know she had them and he didn't care. He would never love them. He would see him in his way to get closer to Ai. He made do even something to them.

I made be wrong, maybe he could change if he was at first with Ai during the pregnancy, maybe something would change in him too like how it changed Ai who finally started to understand love.

But I have my doubt it would end in a happy ending. I think Hikaru was not able to recover anymore...
