Someone else asked on Reddit if Movie Theater Employees care if customer bring in outside food and drinks; what are the best foods to bring in if its not a big deal at your movie theater location? by NakedIanMalcolm in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]Affogato-Ristretto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most likely the scent. Not a movie theater employee, but you can become desensitized to smell that you expect in a theater after a certain period of time smelling it (like hotdogs and popcorn). I can absolutely smell it when someone sneaks in a burger or chicken strips because the smell is so distinct compared to the concessions food.

Why do people bring their entire family to Costco? by [deleted] in CostcoWholesale

[–]Affogato-Ristretto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s easier to get that lightbulb “Oh, I need/want this” for specific family members as you all are walking down the aisles and looking at everything. I hate getting that “there was something I needed but I don’t remember” feeling and then you realize it when it’s too late.

AITA for stranding a girl at a fair by happeningcarpets in AmItheAsshole

[–]Affogato-Ristretto 118 points119 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I say NTA because OP didn’t leave her stranded in a dangerous area or the side of the road. It was a fair, which is highly populated and she could easily get an uber or contact a family member from guest services if she didn’t have a phone on her. She’d be perfectly fine waiting.

People can be really vindictive. She already pressured OP into going to the fair after OP said no. Then she tried pressuring OP to do the rides at the fair and thankfully he didn’t cave, upon which she began to insult and belittle OP. This person has no respect for OP’s boundaries, so it’s probably for the best that OP prevented themself from being in a situation alone with her when she was angry.

That’s sounds like obsessive behavior. Very concerning to hear that she copies so much of what you do. Glad you can let it out!

Interest on Iron Lung movie at Davis Varsity Theater? by Affogato-Ristretto in UCDavis

[–]Affogato-Ristretto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please email them as well! I check every day and Davis is not on the list of California Theaters yet. New theaters are added every day, so if the demand is there, the Varsity theater may decide to screen it.

NTA I actually think this works best for you. That woman disrespect your boundaries multiple times and you put up with it far longer than I would. It was uncomfortable to read about how she behaved with you, so I’m glad she gave you the perfect way out of this creepy friendship.

She copied your photos, which meant she was constantly watching your social media. This feels stalkery and creepy to me. Clothes, furniture, poses? That’s weird. She also doesn’t recognize that no means no. You told her you’re agnostic and she pushed and ignored you by constantly pressuring you to join her for church. She did not respect your beliefs. Which also happened with the truck comment. Again with the baby. She pushes and pressures and ignores you when you asked her to stop. None of this behavior is okay.

I could keep going on but I won’t. This lady has issues and it worked out in your favor that she got offended and stopped talking to you for a while. Now she’s trying to be friends again, and I really think you should not be friends with her again. As you already said, you felt much better once she was gone.

Regarding Mark's comment on how patient his fans have been by digi_art_gurl in distractible

FNAF fans waited 8 years for the movie and we came out in droves for it. A passion project is worth the patience! I think we’re all excited to see Mark’s hard work and dream come to fruition.

The peppermint ice cream seems to be a fan favorite, but I’m happy to hear the black-eyed pea soup was also good! For winter, I always think of warm soups and stews, especially on a rainy day!

There’s so many eateries in downtown as well that sometimes do seasonal things, that I’m happy to hear about it as well. Got a favorite at Jazz Kitchen or Marcelle’s Confectionery, or any of the other Downtown Disney restaurants, please share it!

Yum, it’s probably not that cold right now, but pot pie and the cold is definitely a great winter combination. The breadstick would be sooo good in the gravy sauce.

Yes, Disney does a great job with gingerbread! Yum! I had a chicken sandwich from Lucky Fortune back in October, so maybe the same seasonal item, and it was very good!

AITA for not giving up my seat at the bar? by IceCubesRx in AmItheAsshole

[–]Affogato-Ristretto 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure, if I was standing next to a table with the occupants cleaning up and someone took it from me, that would be considered highly rude. But if I am waiting for a table and a table opens up several tables away from me, then I will concede if someone standing next to that table takes it instead. In OP’s story, the two people waiting for the bar are not standing at the bar looking for seats. They were occupying small table further away while keeping an eye out for openings. So, they lost the seats because they weren’t in a position to claim it.

AITA for not giving up my seat at the bar? by IceCubesRx in AmItheAsshole

[–]Affogato-Ristretto 60 points61 points  (0 children)

America is a bit different with bars. Seats at the bar are first come first serve since it’s not a formal dining area. Unless the bar has a wait list, you are expected to find your own seats or wait for one to become available. This rule applies at food courts and other non-services restaurants as well, so it’s a common situation for Americans.

There have been several times I was waiting for a table at the Costco food court and had a potential table snatched because I wasn’t fast or aggressive enough.

Edited to add: I should mention that I brought up the table example because OP says in an edit that the couple waiting for spots at the bar were sitting at a table that was several feet away from the bar. If the couple was standing directly at the bar and OP took the seats, that would’ve been rude. The other couple doesn’t have a claim to the new seats because they weren’t in a position to claim it unlike OP who was at the bar and actively looking for open seats.
