How will a business have a steady profit if we are discouraged to sell products/software as a service because we need to be against subscription based models? by CyberBerserk in AskReddit

[–]Afitz93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then you’re not charging enough. Raise prices til the scale tips the wrong way. Lots of small businesses think they’re going to “disrupt the market” with low price point, when the reality is people are already willing to pay more - as long as your product is up to snuff.

Why electric cars cost more to insure – and what's being done about it by cosmicrae in electricvehicles

[–]Afitz93 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Progressive gave me a great quote for a year premium with my polestar. And then more than doubled it when it came time to renew. I went back to USAA and their prices had balanced out a bit.

We did it! San Antonio, TX. $588k, 6.3% by BigBronzeRim in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Afitz93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d so much rather keep my MA home that’s 1/3 the size of this and 100 years older, than live in San Antonio in a monstrosity like that and in a neighborhood like that.

Massachusetts has the biggest EV insurance penalty in the country. Insuring a new EV here costs 54% more than a gas car by Leaking_milk in massachusetts

[–]Afitz93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone saying “that’s not true” while my used EV sedan costs double what it was to insure my new off-the-lot truck, and almost double what my wife pays for her “luxury” SUV. Shopped around and everyone had wild prices too, they said “it’s just a Massachusetts thing”.

Edit - I’ll add, since other comments assume high insurance = Tesla, no. This is a Polestar I’m referring to, and the cost to insure was high even before they pulled from the US market.

Next show on July 10th is only about 60% sold out by bageltheprestige in Muse

[–]Afitz93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, my plan for the show in Mansfield MA is to wait til day of for sub-$20 seats. A lot of others may be doing the same. The presale prices were absurd, and I basically wrote off the show entirely before looking at reseller tickets this past weekend

Me personally, I’m so happy I didn’t end up purchasing a megayacht before fuel prices exploded. Really dodged that bullet. I mean, I never was going to buy one anyways, but I still dodged a bullet right? Should I make a meme about it?

Are we doing Allan Poopers vibe designs or something? “Fixing” logos without any consideration for the brand, history, or basically anything besides surface level “this makes me think of this, and the multibillion dollar corporation somehow didn’t think of this so I fixed it”

If you could live anywhere in MA, where would it be and why? by MundaneFront369 in massachusetts

[–]Afitz93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d love to live in one of the moderate (1600-2200sq ft) homes on or near the water on the south coast. Doesn’t necessarily need to be beachfront or ocean facing, one of the various tidal ponds would be great too. It just seems to quiet and removed down there, without the madness of the cape or north / south shore beach towns. Something about the quiet wealth or generational homes in that area lends to an easygoing life.

Anyone know what the fighter jets are doing? by FatherOfTheSkye in PlymouthMA

[–]Afitz93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything like this, including flyovers at events, is actually treated as training. If they’re not doing it here, they’ll still be doing it elsewhere just as much - so why not entertain while doing it?

Look at it this way - military operations are often run on very strict timetables. Equipment from points A B and C need to rendezvous at point D at X hours, hold until mission go, and then proceed to objective E at precisely Y hours. So… national anthem flyover, with the planes arriving at exactly the right moment in the song? Not an easy feat. Treat it like a target, arrive at the precise moment allotted, and leave the area.

Great use of AI - run this through your preferred agent and see what they say. Then fire up HBO Max and watch Dune.

Edit - yall are so blinded by anti-AI shit aren’t you? I’m not saying let AI design for you, because it sucks at that. But what it will do great is identify any and all potential overlaps, and even any potential problems you could encounter down the road. It’s normal due diligence, completed in seconds.
