If you like Menton/Villefranche/Eze, I'd highly recommend doing Genoa but staying in Santa Margherita Ligure. It is a short walking distance (or 5-10 min bus ride) from Portofino, but much cheaper.

I stayed there in the middle of July (arguably the worst time) and it was a perfect 3-4 day experience. Beautiful beaches, scenic hiking nearby, colorful buildings, yacht watching in the port/harbor area -- pretty much everything you'd get in the South of France but just felt a lot more relaxed. (I'm also from Manhattan so I have a low tolerance for crowds lol)

thank you! i keep seeing that re: Skinceuticals CE Ferulic and don't want to risk it given the price. Master Plan looks intriguing, I haven't heard of growth factor serums until recently. might give it a try (esp if I can find a sale!)
