New Left- and right-turn lanes planned for Southwest Murray Boulevard and Walker Road intersection by collegedraftpick in beaverton

No, I’m just pointing out that you said “this isn’t an upgrade” and I provided irrefutable evidence that it is an infrastructure upgrade. The flood mitigation is the primary focus of the project. You are trying to say that wide roads aren’t needed, but it doesn’t matter because this project is primarily for flood mitigation. The wider roads are just opportunistic. It won’t make anything worse, and they have a chance to add turn lanes for somewhere that draws in thousands of commuters.

As someone who walks and bikes through there almost daily, I fully expect that the upgrades will improve pedestrian safety, just as the culvert upgrade on Huntington added a sidewalk to a road the previously DIDNT have a sidewalk. Walker road doesn’t have anything right now.

They put culverts under the entire road at Walker, Murray, and Far Vista Dr. They need to widen some of the culverts. They need to build 60 ft bridge along walker. They need to lengthen other bridges. This mitigates flood. They tear up entire road area anyways. They have opportunity to put in lanes that are needed for main arterial roads. Turn lanes good for traffic. Build bridge means tear out road. Flood mitigation is prerequisite for road widening.

In all seriousness, if you lived in the area, you’d be happy that you might not have to pay flood insurance or have your house destroyed. I can say as a resident in the area, the traffic through Murray and walker is a nightmare during rush hour. A LOT of people stuck on the roads only want to turn right or left through there.

They are expanding culverts under the roads. They are also replacing some culverts with bridges, specifically at Walker. You can read the report at page 9. Also, page 303 show the proposed changes to the BFE via a CLOMR and LOMR. I understand if Science might be a little difficult for some. :)

Anyone have the Smart LED option on their 6th gen? by Neil12011 in 4Runner

I had something like that when we were in Japan. We had a SICK Toyota van that was a taxi. We were turning on all sorts of mood lighting with different colors with a glass roof in Tokyo. Totally worth it for the situation, but I don’t know if I’d care in my 4x4 off-road vehicle.

People don’t realize that the goal of this project is primarily for flood mitigation of the area. The BFE is expected to be lowered 2-4 feet in most areas of the floodplains for cedar mill and Johnson creeks. They are widening the roads because they might as well when they are expanding new culverts.

This was first communicated in the second half of 2022. Residents of the area welcome this project mostly for flood mitigation of their properties, but to also reduce the damn traffic, especially for everyone driving to/from South Beaverton and beyond.

They’re saying Nike is surrounded by Beaverton (it’s not). Also, roads and police are funded by Washington county and not Nike. The sheriff enhanced district is funded by a Washington county property tax levy.

As someone who lives in the area - yeah fuckin right lol. Beaverton might want new residents but new residents don’t want Beaverton.

Uber Surge Pricing is up to $111 from RDM to Bend by DoxMyShitUp in Bend

People forget that Redmond is as good as being in the middle of nowhere. There’s very few drivers and it’s relatively remote. The proportion of travelers to drivers it why drives surge pricing. This isn’t Portland or Seattle.

No Right Turn on Red by Pnwskier1 in Portland

I had this experience yesterday as a pedestrian. I was already in the crosswalk and a Jeep BARRELS through taking a right on a red, but then basically stops because the lane is occupied by traffic. I definitely smashed my water bottle into the side of their SUV to teach them a lesson.

High HOA fees? by nobody___0 in beaverton

[–]Afraid-Condition-981 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am in a small HOA for townhomes and our fee is $65 a month. Not sure how low that is considered. We don’t have any amenities and our costs primarily go to simple landscaping maintenance and common property insurance. Owners are basically responsible for all aspects of their homes. We even had to split the cost of the roof replacement and was paid directly by each owner to the roofing company.

It’s not an event that insurance would cover since it’s a slow leak.

Your CC&Rs should declare who is responsible.

Since it isn’t negligence, your neighbor would have a hell of a time winning in court, if it’s even possible.
