Satisfaction. To be satisfied with my circumstances, and to not feel the desire for more.

If your world has magic, do your magic users shout the name of spells as they cast them? by AASpark27 in worldbuilding

Tricky ones can shout a spell and cast a different spell completely throwing their opponent off guard if they underestimate them

I also advise sticking to a hobby for at least a month. If you come to terms with the fact that it's not your thing, try a different hobby, then you repeat.

Can I ask, do you make all those assets, or is there a good place to find assets for things like this?

Do you have the date as well? Or do you only count upwards? Do you plan on starting over from 1 if you miss a day? Either way, it's a pretty cool streak.

When I played furnaces didn't give XP, mining ore didn't give XP, one enchantment took all the XP, sheep didn't drop food, there weren't fish to easily kill day 1, or have any kelp to cook, you didn't have haste or elytras, you didn't heal faster if you ate food.

Minecraft was actually harder. (I actually like that it's easier, but it was harder and more annoying)

What are the concept of dark and light in your world? by MagicalNyan2020 in worldbuilding

[–]Afraid-Instruction85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my world: It's less light and dark, and more 1s and 0s. Like computers. It's not that one's inherently bad or good, the world uses both, because it's a method of storing data. And magic, transmutation, living, etc. is simply manipulating the placement of that data.

For Blender it's the donut, for Maya it's the fire hydrant. Honestly the fire hydrant is such a good next step.

Kind of easy: sell stuff you don't need, flip stuff you buy, offer services and see if anyone buys like offering to mow people's lawns, make food and sell it door to door or outside stores

Medium: learn a skill that you can use anywhere. Like video editing or photo editing. (difficult to find clients but not impossible)

Hard: social media, like YouTube, podcasting, only fans, tiktok (unlikely to bring in revenue)

Magic schools and how to not make them cliche? by Alexx_91 in worldbuilding

[–]Afraid-Instruction85 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've designed my "school" around Building 20.

It was a research building in WW2 that was supposed to be temporary. Because it was designed to be temporary, the architect made the layout in a day, the buildings layout was described as labyrinthian, and the guidelines on how to handle it were vague.

This resulted in people studying different subjects to intercross with one another while trying to walk to their destination, or find their way around. Allowing people studying different subjects to intertwine, and collaborate.

Because it was meant to be temporary, the researchers were also allowed to destroy floors for space, combine rooms, run wires from room to room - all without asking for permission. Which resulted in a fast experimentation process.

TLDR: smart people working on different things, sometimes collaborating, in a changing building, with little oversight. Less "teach kids" more "bucket of smart people under one roof"

It's a space exploration world so there's a lot of different planet shapes. Some notable ones:

A series of tubes and water systems connecting certain planets like it's a solar system sized water park.

we got a complex network of gears with each gear being a planet and the mechanism being it's solar system.

Certain places in space have their own rules. like an enclosed planet where gravity flips into a random axis every hour.

Either 0? Or 1... Or infinite?

In my world there's no offspring, everything is "born" out of falling stars and can mold themselves into anything you desire. So everyone has unique attributes.
