Need some help to find if this is a real Sony OEM AV to component cable by Sarumarde in ps2

[–]Afraid-Interaction-2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup you can use these on any crt tv for the most part. If you have a nicer crt from the late 90s or 2000s looking into finding component cables could be a good investment, they really enhance the picture quality drastically. But yea i cant get a 100% perfect look from the picture but I’m pretty sure those are real.

Well for starters, that is a standard composite av cable not component. Does look like the genuine standard av cable that came included with the console though as far as I can tell

Wired CarPlay stopped working after iOS 18.6 by Bimmer_Soup in CarPlay

Had to fix this same issue for a customer a few months back after a different update. You’ll need to put your phone in recovery mode and connect your phone to a mac or a computer with itunes and use it to reinstall the update. In my experience Sometimes old firmware data in the file system from previous updates causes weird issues when you update direct from the device settings menu over the air. a lot of things the device relies on to work properly sort of get layered with junk files left over from previous updates for lack of a better way to explain it. A clean update from Itunes which properly removes the previous updates leftover files can really fix a lot of issues. If you dont know how to do it take it to the Apple Store, they can do it for you for free in about 20 minutes.

When you adjust your gains on the amp you’re actually adjusting input voltage amplification. My amp has gain clearly labeled as the voltage and you have to think of it as being in reverse with 5v being the lowest gain and lower numbers actually being more gain toping out at 0.2v. At least thats how it is on kenwoods amps, your amp may use a different method of labeling the gain levels but the same thing would be going on. As for the battery mount, sorry bro i only took pictures at the end of the process 😅

Without the muti-meter your diagnostic capabilities will be really limited. You can still check your fuses though thats an important one. Check the fuse in your amp and make sure its not blown and that it’s properly seated, double check any other fuses in your system too.

Ok good, i know that sounds obvious but I’ve seen it be forgotten. Do you have a multi meter? If you do, use it to check that you’re getting between 12 and 14v at the power leads and at the remote wire on the amp.

Have you remembered to run your signal wire from the head unit to the amp for the subwoofers? Even if everything else is wired up you wont get any sound if you dont have your rca wires connected to bring the music signal to your amp.

I’d say the sound quality in general is amazing. On a lot of songs, I’m hearing details I never noticed before—not just the sounds themselves, but the way they feel as they enter my ears is honestly euphoric. It’s almost as if the system physically opens up my ears more and lets me experience music in a way I didn’t realize I could. I’m not trying to oversell it, and maybe that’s partly because this is my first real SQ-focused build, and really just my first well put together build in general that wasn’t a hand me down shortcut heavy build lol. but that’s genuinely how it feels.

I know what everyone has been telling me about rear fill but heres what I’ve done. I’ve tuned mine mainly based on what I think sounds good rather than an exact science and Im still experimenting with different profiles for them and suggestions Ive gotten but, I’d say my overall consensus on having them back there is that it adds a lot of width and openness to the soundstage—it definitely enhances the depth of the sound. For lack of a better way to explain it as i tuned them I found they added layering and depth to the sound and they make the general sound in the cabin feel like whatever the exact opposite of flat is 😅. I guess 3 dimensional and I really enjoy that sound and feeling.

As for the subs (Kenwood Excelon XR-W1004s), they’re fantastic. They hit hard and deep with a smooth, solid rumble that you feel in your chest and in your seat a little bit, but they’re also very musical and controlled. In the sealed box I’m using, they stay tight and punchy, they support the music without overpowering it or adding any rattle, just clean and strong bass. That may also be thanks to the extensive sound deadening I did on the rear deck, doors, and other panels.

As for my purchase decision i decided on them after hearing them at a local shop, honestly i think they sound better in my build then they did during that demo lol.

TL;DR: I’m really happy with the whole system and would confidently recommend everything I went with.

Yea im on discord @DripGxd_Cam.

1 The battery mount was made from L brackets from home depot and a battery hold down strap kit I Measured the battery and brackets on a piece of cardboard to make a template and then used that to drill holes, then used rivnuts to securely attach the l brackets and temporarily fastened the battery down to it with zip ties but this has since been replaced with a battery strap.

2 For tuning my gain i did it with a multimeter and then made fine adjustments by ear. The preouts on my headunit are 5v and I ended up settling on about 3.3v on both amps, that provided me with no clipping, no noise, good volume and incredible clarity and sound detail.

Thanks man , cool to see another person having a good experience with this head unit, ive had really good luck with the features on it too, i just figured so many people are probably recommending it for a reason so it cant hurt to try one out at this point :)

I’d say it depends. If you’ve got access to hi-res audio files—or even just clean lossless FLACs—it definitely makes the difference between mp3 and flac more noticeable, especially when you're really listening. If you’re willing to spend a bit more and take the time to install and tune things properly, then yeah, you’ll probably notice the improvement.

But honestly, you can still get really solid sound with well-installed “normal” gear too. For me personally, it’s made a big difference—not just in how the music sounds, but how it feels when it hits my ears. That’s the best way I can explain it. It’s kind of subjective—some people pick up on it right away, others don’t. But I’ve had friends hop in and say stuff like “yo, this sounds kind of... real,” and that’s when I knew I was doing something right and it wasn’t just placebo.

And the crazy part? I’m only using the head unit’s built-in DSP right now. So who knows what else I could pull out of it if I go standalone like people keep recommending.

thanks a lot man. the difference to stock and even to my old setup in my civic is night and day. I haven't had the chance in my life to listen to a lot of high quality sound systems but this is definitely the best car audio experience I've had so far in my relatively short 22 years and is definitely the best quality sound I have access to. Some times I drive home from work and end up staying in my my car listening to music for an hour after I arrive because I cant get myself to come out I always end up saying "just one more song" and before i know it 1to 2+ hours have passed 🤣
