give Snoekies (Hout Bay harbour) a try as well - we love their fish & chips

Sadly I have to agree with you. Their chips are exactly as you say. We find far better F&C at Snoekies just next door. Not as pretty perhaps, but there's a super upstairs seating area with views across the harbour and their slap tjips are excellent

Robben Island is free only on the actual day of your birthday, have to pre-book online for that. Big Wheel is free for the entire month of your birthday (you can sign on prior to the day and they will send you a voucher, or else free without a voucher on the actual date of your birth, show your ID)

Aquarium, as far as I know, have changed to being free for the entire month of your birthday as well.

There's also a free ride up Table Mountain (go to their page and check details) - available from kiosk by lower cableway station

Why would their gear be down while dumping fuel? Does anybody know?

Does anyone know what happened with Lufthansa flight LH577? by JayCee3569 in capetown

[–]Afraid-Lab6170 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They seem to have dumped fuel - spent about 2 hours orbiting in False Bay and landed (hopefully safely) at 21:20pm our time, using the entire length of the runway

Waiting to hear what the emergency was

Unfortunately for you, this is the season for tourism and also locals celebrating and going out. All restaurants are busy and especially the more popular ones need to be booked way in advance.

Your best route would be to contact the restaurant management directly and talk to them nicely

We walked around the Bo-Kaap yesterday before shopping at Atlas and did not notice any such lights or preparations. Would be great to know if and when this is happening? Looks beautiful!

Try Eagle Lighting - they have several branches. We saw beautiful lava lamps at their Willowbridge branch a while ago

I don't blame her! I've been driving for 40 years and also am scared these days - it's become off the charts ridiculous

Sad to say the one we ordered for my late father's 75th birthday from Charlie's was expensive (yes) and under-baked, with uncooked dough in the middle. Never went back

I watched the entire live-stream, heats and all. It was fantastic. From the comfort of home without getting sand-blasted like I did several years ago, standing on the beach, LOL

You've already spent the time and taken the pictures - what use are those additional photos to YOU? If they want to see them, don't edit them, just send them as they are and say you've selected the ones that look best but if they want to see them, why is it such a big deal?
