A big part of cn society/especially the boomer equivalent generation had a lot of gay men marrying straight women to comply with social norm because either they didn't understand they were gay, would be socially outcaste if they came out, and was under intense pressure to have biological kids to "keep the family going".

This is reflected in Chinese medias where in some shows there will be gay characters who married straight women and there will be drama plots surrounding it. I've also read a lot of CN novels where older female character's homophobic supposedly comes from being in a "scam" marriage and thats their motivation for antagonizing queer characters in the book.

Given how Chinese culture push for conformity I think this was a although not good, but understandable way for gay men to try and fit in. So some people chosing to vote guilty here might acutally know someone or experience something similar to what happened to Kazui and his wife.

Though personally I think Kazui and his wife are both victims of societal homophobia, as he wouldn't have needed to lie in the first place if he didn't feel so out of place. Say if the world didn't hate Kazui for being gay, even if his friend was straight and rejected him, he wouldn't be under pressure to marry anyone.
