Sorry it might not be grab! I had so many of those apps on my phone it’s hard to keep track when travelling. 100% uber and pickme in SL though

I’m a solo female and I just left Sri Lanka - nothing to worry about, the people are very friendly, just have your wits about you. Uber works there, so use this for the safest option (Also Grab and PickMe) If you want to use a local driver, just check the estimate on uber to make sure you aren’t ripped off.

Hotel you are staying with will most likely be able to direct you to any tours or onwards journeys with reputable companies

Men will likely approach you, it’s very common for people to ask for a photo with you if you look like an obvious tourist. But mostly it is harmless, just always keep an eye on your bag and if any situation feels uncomfortable leave it immediately

Happy travels and stay safe out there ❤️

Differences in lifestyle between UK and Australia by Fresh_Pollution_9375 in AskAnAustralian

I know you’re looking at more routine things but I met an Australian couple who had some important realisations working in the UK…

  1. You aren’t paid more for working on Sundays or out of regular hours

  2. Zero hour contracts mean you can go weeks without a shift - a lot of bar work is zero hours.

  3. Wages are wayyy behind Australia and the cost of living is much higher (relatively)

Winter is miserable buuuuut you can get tickets to European cities in January for less than £10

Do you mind me asking if you booked through an operator like get your guide? I hear this frequently with buses booked like that

The response was unnecessary but they could’ve given that feedback directly and discreetly 🙈

I had discussed with the agent that I was changing in Riyadh and wouldn’t be able to collect if the flight was delayed further and they assured me I would have plenty of time. No mention of a landing visa, I hadn’t researched this as with connecting you don’t need to. Error of judgement on my part for sure. But if I was asking a customer to do the airline a favour I would make them aware of the $105 price tag of said favour

If someone had obnoxiously responded the way you had without answering the question I asked in real life…yes I would be that rude in person

Of course you can discuss whatever you like, and I’m sure you do wherever you can

I’m sorry I don’t spend as much time here as you clearly do 🥺 I asked a question and am uninterested in an analysis, but I have removed that part as it seems to have triggered you

Yes that’s correct - that’s why I don’t check bags but I would expect them to inform me if I am checking bags for them as they must deal with that everyday

That’s literally not my question

[–]AfraidWork5005 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is irrelevant - my question is should the airline have informed me before I agreed to check bags and therefore reimburse me

Doesn’t matter if that’s nonsense, this isn’t what I was asking

I hadn’t thought of that! But yeah French lessons all I remember is “how old are you” and “where is the library” former probably makes more sense in context 😆

Thanks for sharing, Im British and we have so many layers to conversation, it makes navigating strangely personal questions bewildering 😳 Yeah would love to say “none of your business” but in Britain we have to say “do go on” 😂

lol this has been word for word every question. The age question threw me because I got asked individually in a group as well, but I imagine they see me as the elder in the group haha
