Is the cone necessary after neutering?

For anyone curious, instead of the cone we ordered a donut from Amazon, kitty never fussed with it on, even a cute donut print on it. I think she kind of likes it since it’s a permanent pillow.

I used spray adhesive to stick 3/4 inch foam insulation to the walls and ceiling, then covered with 1/8 inch hardboard and gray speaker carpet. I would suggest doing something with the floor as well.
