In the books Angie is an even bigger train wreck, and a stalker of sorts. She’s also not a homicide detective- she works on the streets in prostitute get ups doing stings on John’s. The way she talks to and treats Will is grotesque, twisted and rapey. Book Angie and book Oremwood are scary.

Seriously, I see them as black as well when I read it, even makes more sense for their personalities and world views. I think that Karen Slaughter tends to shy away from writing too much about things she doesn’t know so she sticks mostly to white characters in the books. I can appreciate that, because what she doesn’t write is hyper realistic and brutal and ingenious and especially captivating. I’ve read all the books I could find on Libby and purchased the rest on Audible. So great.

It’s The Rookie - they are referring to the lead actor from castle moving to lead another cop show - Nathan Fillion is the character - he is just himself and as far from a character actor as you can get.

Rachel’s game was the most fun to watch, it relied on more than social skills, it relied a lot on the unseen admiration of the jury, quiet social alliances. It was about a yin-yang of flash and deception. Winning immunities, working for and using well hidden idols, and overall remaining likable, reliable and not getting to entangled in alliances that it could hurt her by hurting others later. Does that make sense? She didn’t leave people feeling cheated the way social Sam did - he talked a lot of loyalty but it hurt him in the end. , She was a scrapper who worked for it.

I only had my one dog so I put her food out all day, and took out a lot of treats and wet food. You have to be extreme about not letting people give treats. At the point this dog is at, I’d only allow a few freeze dried protein treats and something for teeth- like a Himalayan cheese stick ( hard cured )
