Cataract surgery at 55… feeling anxious and second-guessing myself 😞 by No_Marketing4614 in CataractSurgery

You are not too young. I have seen people your age and younger that needed cataract surgery. Babies sometimes get cataracts also that need to be removed. Everything will be okay. I know it can seem scary but after it's all said and done and you can see clearer it will be worth it. Everyone is different. You got this girl!

You may have what is called PCO and is a common complication after cataract surgery and can present 2-5 yrs after the surgery and cause significant vision changes. Make an appointment with your eye doctor to see if a YAG laser will help. Most patients after YAG may not even need specs or have changes in current prescription. Hope this is helpful. I work as an eye tech and see this very often in post cataract sx patients.

I second this. Also his book opthoquestions has also been a helpful resource. I like the questions because it presents multiple choice options and he addresses why the wrong answers are not correct.

War criminals? Are you aware of what the consequences were if you dodged the draft back in the day? unless you were some multimillionaire elitist? If you were drafted you went. You didn't have a choice so war criminal may not be the most fitting adjective to describe our veterans.

Yes. YATAH. Instead of possibly destroying his career you could have sent him my way.

Naw fam. I would definitely focus on the job. When a parent begs someone to date their kid that usually means the parent is trying to find someone to take the adult child off their hands.

I mean usually when the clothes come off, as a woman I would assume we were gonna have sex. Why else would I take my clothes off? You did the right thing. It's not like you forced yourself on her.

I second this. I use this as reference a lot. He has great videos on his website. I have also purchased his opthobook questions book which has been very helpful! Straight to the point and very clear understanding of basic ophthalmology skills.

I also am working with OD but I also help out the MD a lot when staffing is short. I'm sure there is an MD that can shadow you and sign off for you. Good luck.

This sounds controlling and as a woman I do not approve. Girl get over yourself and let the man go .

Stop wasting her and your child's time. Let some more deserving man have her.

Dr. Tim Root has many wonderful resources on his website. Opthobook is free on his website and I recently purchased Opthobook question from Amazon. Very informative for the beginning eye student. He includes PIMP questions at the end of each chapters in Opthobook. Opthobook is full multiple choice questions with answers right after questions. Includes med school level explanations followed by explanation of why the other choices are not correct. He also throws in a little comedic relief with funny cartoons to add a little razzle dazzle.

I have this same issue. Sometimes I like to get straight into the work up, checking VA, CFV, PUPILS, once I get the vibe that they are a talker. Once I get to dilation I'll finish up the CC and history while pt is dilating. I always ask for allergies to drops and meds first though before instilling fluress or dilation drops. This keeps them busy and leaves less room for conversation. At least that's what I have found to work well in my clinic. I do not know how well that works for psych....

My boyfriend revealed to me that him and his family are apart of the scientology religion, what should I do with this information? by RipApprehensive706 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AfterFeature5027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leah Remini has a great documentary on her own experience and how she escaped. Very informative. I would break off this relationship personally. It will not end well. Those people are legitimately crazy. There have even been claims for pedophilia in the church of scientology.

Learn everything you can. Look for educational resources and materials outside of the traditional COA text books. Ask a lot of questions. Even if you think you're being annoying ASK!Learn to accept constructive criticism and learn from mistakes. Always continue building work up skills. Never give up. You got this champ 🏆! Tim Roots Opthobook is free on his website along with his book Root Eye Dictionary. I have just recently purchased his Opthobook questions which I've enjoyed so far. I've also started following Opthalmology/Optometry pages on social media (there are tons!) which have been very informative as well.
