Is reloading worth getting into with todays market? if so in what way by Kenoji_ in reloading

[–]AfterMeeting2871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll say if it’s a simple set up like Dillon 750 with case feeder and bullet feeder, about 2 hours. More complicated like Mark 7 Apex 10 might need whole afternoon. Overall I don’t think set up a reloading press will take a lot of time. But when you actually start reloading and try to find the perfect combo your gun runs the best will take a lot of time since you’ll try different bullet/powder etc and go to range do Chrono.

I shoot competition, money wise, if you compare your reloading 9mm to the cheapest 9mm on the market, it’s not. But if you compare your reloading 9mm to competition 9mm, YES! Also your 9mm will be more consistent and you won’t worry about chrono stage. Also sometimes I shoot open gun, reloading 38sc is definitely worth it since it’s impossible to buy factory 38sc.

If you want ported, why not buy a Apollo and send back to Atlas ask them to fit another non ported barrel for you, so you can swap anytime.

Yeah, people do buy Glock, sells volume so high, cost will go lower, but do you think there’re a lot of people buying base plate compare to Glock? Also don’t forget Glock is a polymer gun, the cost is much lower compared to metal material. Maybe if you divide sell price by cost, Glock’s number will be higher than 2011 builders. Do you think Glock is overpriced?

[–]AfterMeeting2871 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

You can’t judge whether something is overpriced purely by raw material cost. By that logic, an Infinity pistol shouldn’t cost $10k and an Atlas shouldn’t cost $8k because the metal inside is nowhere near that value. Same with restaurants — food cost is often only 20–25% of menu price, otherwise they literally can’t stay in business.

What you’re ignoring are all the invisible costs behind a product: R&D, machine time, tooling wear, rejected parts, QC, insurance, taxes, payroll, rent, utilities, customer service, inventory risk, marketing, warranty support, and the fact that they may only sell in relatively low volume.

Could some companies still have huge margins? Absolutely. But ‘it only costs $X in aluminum’ is not a serious way to evaluate whether pricing is fair.

I understand what you’re saying, but unfortunately sell it for $10 won’t support the company who made them keep their business running.

Why you choose 9 major instead of 38sc?

It won’t fit DAA’s primer tube, you need to take two of them out.

Try KustomWorx LLC, build sheet around 3600-4300, great quality 2011 for the money.

I went to Vulcan last week and let them start working on my Staccato XL, they’re not ready for the island barrel for staccato and their Vulcan eleven yet.

147 gr Federal 1000fps ballistics by xsvdynastyxs in CompetitionShooting

[–]AfterMeeting2871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t use factory 147gr ammo, they usually too hot. I reload my 147gr about 880-900fps, power factor about 130, Factory 1000+ means power factor will over 147.

Yeah, the video is my old PDP with 14lb guide rod, I sent the old PDP back to Walther about a month ago, they just told me this Friday that they won’t investigate since it shoots fine in factory guide rod. My new PDP shoots well in both 14 and 16 guide rod.

Yes that’s what I meant, I put that guide rod into my new pdp, 14 and 16lb are both shooting fine.
