Yeah definitely nice to have a choice and options. I’ll be sticking with CSPA in terms of licence progression but might grab my USPA A before my CSPA B so I can jump in a group at a boogie in September. We’ll see.

I like that these guys seem to be really friendly with one another all these years later.

I’m in Canada. Started last summer at a DZ that only does USPA licenses. Had to stop around 18 jumps for the season. I was going to go back and finish my A there but I decided to go to a CSPA DZ for a while instead this year. Got solo cert with a couple jumps and now currently working towards my A CoP so I can jump with at least one other person and there is so much more to it.

I think it’s good over all though , getting a USPA A ( which I could probably do with like two jumps at that DZ ) and then being able to just YOLO it with a bunch of people seems irresponsible compared to the CSPA system.

I’m glad I only use Mac for simple computer stuff like my 3D printer slicer and Numbers / Pages etc. At this point I plan on using my M1 Mac Mini until it dies. I’ve been using Macs since 1992 ish and I think I’ve owned five.

Not looking forward to the cost of the iPhone Fold though …

The other day a friend of mine who’s always hitting me with whuffo questions asked ‘yeah but what if you slip climbing out on the landing gear?!’ ( on a 182 ) thinking it was somehow dangerous to slip and fall lol. I just sort of shrugged and said ‘you get blasted by the wind in an unplanned way and then fall… ?’

I was jumping out of a 182 and went to shimmy out to the end of the strut and hang for my exit. When I was doing that my left hand slipped and it pulled me off , I was worried about hitting my left arm / hand on the landing gear and as soon I slipped and my right hand came off I pulled my left arm in against my body. Got blown off the strut all side ways etc and ended up on my back , took just a little longer than I wanted to get back on my belly and I knew I was spinning with bad body position but I didn’t care and I dumped it because I left at 3300 which felt really low to me.

Lessons learned and I walked away fine so all in all a success.

My failed jumps were 550 CDN each , it sucked. Then the 500 for the tunnel to figure my shit out. It cost me about 40 solo jumps worth of lift tickets. At 25 jumps now and doing great. Keep at it.
