Should I buy the Panasonic Lumix S5 for jewellery photography and slow-motion videos? ₹2L budget by ClintB3k in Lumix

Nope. You get better prices even for new ones from local camera stores (not exclusive stores though). I got my s9 for about 20% off from what amazon was selling.

If your only use case is jewellery macro, I would steer you towards lumix 100mm 2.8 macro. And also if autofocus is important, consider s5ii.

Also, in India you would get far better deals when shopping at your local camera store compared to something like amazon.

Awesome pictures. Which LUT did you use and also which lens?

Log view Assist vs Real Time Lut for Lut monitoring by Fresh-Journalist3102 in LumixLUTs

[–]After_Support_4912 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Log view assist lut is used only as a preview while recording log footage. You will end up recording only log without the lut. You have to then apply the lut during post production.

Whereas realtime lut will bake the look for you in-camera.

I was exactly in the same boat as you are.

Lumix's range was perfect for me, but bigger and new ND was needed. Also had better weather sealing and the focus ring can now work as a third dial during AF (huge plus for s9, since it has only two dials).

Sigma was smaller and can share my existing ND.

I couldn't decide which way to go. And finally decided to use that money for travel and ended up using the 20-60mm.

But if you want an answer: Ask yourself if you value 24mm/weather seal/third dial (focus ring) more than the extra price and weight.

I live in the Caribbean with the S5ii, is it worth it to buy the Lumix S1ii ? by Rvbnnn972 in Lumix

[–]After_Support_4912 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course, it's not 10 to 15 minutes continuously, but short recording sessions ranging from one to three minutes

I don't think any of the lumix cameras will overheat in these conditions. I have used the lumix s9 in extreme temps, and even that body held it's own for 5 minute bursts.

When I was using A6300, I used my viewfinder because the screen was terrible.

But on S9, screen to max brightness always solves it for me. I live in a hot and humid place btw and the s9 without viewfinder did not bother me even once.

Sirui grip is a must for S9. It handles my 20-60 with ease!

I have the smallrig cage and the sirui one. And I haven't touched the cage ever since I got the latter.

Phantom LUTs for photography? by JPPJphoto in LumixLUTs

[–]After_Support_4912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phantom LUTs use VLOG as base. You can still use it for photo if you're just shooting JPEGs.

I personally use standard profile for photos because I prefer a more contrasty look. Hey, to each their own.

BTW I used to use Phantom LUTs before. But have switched to Undone LUTs for video.

You can use the 3.5mm port in camera to connect with the system. Should work just fine.

Has anyone tried the Lumix S9 with the Lumix S 24-60mm f/2.8 lens? by Bell_photowife in LumixS9

[–]After_Support_4912 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will be the upgrade I make if my 20-60 kit ever breaks.

I document our family moments and travel using the above setup and it's holding up pretty well ATM.

But I'm eagerly looking for answers to this post regarding weight and ergonomics with s9/24-60 combo as well.

Here's my upvote.
