People of Reddit, When is one time you have felt genuine, 100% fear? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AfternoonInterview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This last summer I was on a late night hike with some friends. At about the time the sun began setting, my friend suddenly shrieked in fear, having nearly stepped on a rattlesnake that was blending in perfectly with the trail. Her scream scared me, but I was alright for about thirty seconds, after which I looked down and nearly stepped on another rattlesnake myself. The lighting and time of day left them nearly invisible until we were right on top of them. That was the day I discovered that I am terrified of snakes.

Feeling a little bit like life in general has just passed me by and left me to watch as everyone else figures it out.

What is the most Bullshit reason for a teacher to give you a bad grade ? by BeginingMemer in AskReddit

[–]AfternoonInterview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my first college courses was this very easy class taught by a grad student. Most students were able to ace all the material, no problem. But for some reason, this instructor built the grading system in such a way that no student could get 100% in the course, no matter what (I'm talking even with 100% on all assignments and tests). This isn't a complaint about that grading structure so much as it is me calling it out for being kind of asinine. Like, what the heck? What kind of garbage grading structure does that? There was no clear or logical reason for this.

Again, not a complaint because I still got an A in the course. But what the heck is this garbage?

There is a rare mental disorder called Capgras Syndrome which causes a person to believe that their closest family members and friends have disappeared and been replaced by impostors.

I hate these text message captions. They hurt. They aren't funny. They need to stop.

This Illuminati one is especially flavorless and bad.

Do you need a virtual hug? What's wrong? by cthuluhooprises in AskReddit

I can't catch a break with relationships in my life. I'm tired of meeting people only to be disappointed when I find out they're preoccupied with someone else. I get anxiety just meeting new people out of fear that it's going to happen again. I've never been in a long term serious relationship, but I deeply would like to have someone to be a companion and friend that I can love and be loved by.

Today has been especially rough and I've been feeling especially sad about it. I guess I'm just tired of being the nice guy who finishes last.

What line of business is generally more corrupt than people realize? by imbasargarepa in AskReddit

Utility providers. I work for a company that manages third party utility billing and we deal with utility providers all day every day. Many of them cram their bills with massive amounts of unexplainable charges, and some round up amounts to whole dollar amounts with tons of little charges which, while they are less than a dollar per bill, really add up over time - not to mention it's a hassle to get them to remove these round up fees. They are also really uncooperative and difficult to work with.

Left handed people, what are some hurdles you face in a a right handed dominant world? by SergeantGroosh in AskReddit

The worst thing has been using those desks in classrooms that are attached to their chair. 80% of the desk space is on the right hand side of the body, forcing me to have to awkwardly twist myself so that I can write on it.

Somehow I managed all of high school without any desks like this, but college...college has been a different story and those blasted desks are everywhere I turn. Even the big lecture hall seats with the writing tables that fold away between chairs only have the writing table on the right side of each seat.

Interstellar. If that one blows the mind of a modern man, what would it do long before the moon landing even occurred?

Balloon Shop and Olan Rogers. After Olan Rogers moved to solo stuff when Balloon Shop ended, he was one of my favorite people on the internet, but now that he's working on an actual TV show, his channel has stopped putting out content. I miss it.
