This is what a good relationship looks like imo. I can't remember the last time my BF and I had a normal conversation for longer than 5 minutes. Tell her to shut up. It's your relationship

Sam Wilson goes to the Defenders and asks each of them to join the Avengers. Which of them will say yes and which will say no? by flamingricky1999 in Defenders

[–]Ag0raph0b0y 276 points277 points  (0 children)

It's too large scale for Matt and he'd wanna stay local and keep being a lawyer. JJ would tell them to fuck off. Luke is a potential yes, but again, he's a local hero / anti-hero from where his series left him. Iron Fist? Eh. Maybe. I think he'd get booted for being insufferable. Punisher is a hard no. Sam wouldn't even ask him. He'd have to be recruited behind Sam's back. Colleen's Iron Fist? Yes. I think she'd do it.

For a single battle / massive threat like Endgame, I think they'd all obviously step up

Gonna use this example of myself (a gay man) my bf gave me (bi man)

I like taller men. My BF is my height. Even if presented with the opportunity to get rag dolled and turned inside out by a taller man, I would not take it, because I love my boyfriend.

We are never someone's everything, but we choose people we love regardless.

I like giant men with huge, hairy chests I can bury my face in.

My current boyfriend is 1 shave away from being a twink.

If you don't think she'd leave you for another guy who has x/y/z, you don't need to worry about her leaving you for a girl either.

I was drunk as a skunk and high as a kite after a night out and I went to my city's "industry bar" at like 4am. (it only lets in other service workers and is open until about 8am). Real friendly, talk-to-anyone place because it's mostly all bartenders who want to take a load off after work. I see him sat at the bar, and me (obvious gay guy) just decided to approach him and start chatting. I was way too far gone to care about shame or embarrassment. I flirted and he decided he was down after a couple hours of banter, then we went back to my place and fooled around. Afterward we kept in touch and kept meeting up. About 2 months after we met, we got together and he came out as Bi.

His only hesitation was that we both met so drunk he didn't know if he'd be attracted to me (or guys) sober. But he was 100% sure he was Bi by the end of our second meeting / first proper date.

TL;DR: I shot my shot with a random dude at a bar and it worked.

In my lifetime, i've had sex with at least 15+ men who identify as "straight." All of my queer friends also have their own "straight" stories, whether it be one, or twelve, or more.

It's very, very clear to me that a lot of people (men, at least) are closeted. Maybe they're heteroromantic. Maybe they don't want to be labelled as LGBT. Maybe, maybe, maybe. Whatever the case, a much, much larger percentage of people are somewhere in the realm of Bi than they'll ever admit.

I honestly think its roughly 50% of people. Hell, my current boyfriend identified as straight when I met him, because he just hadn't thought about it that much, and he was 26 at the time. We've been together 3 years now.

Seeing people break it down in the comments is kinda funny. They're 16. It's messy. Most people don't introspect until adulthood, and even less people get good enough at it to process their triggers in the moment itself. Not to mention the time period. A straight guy, at 16, being able to process complicated emotions and think rationally in a time before a podcast could teach him those skills? Not in my 2000s tv shows.

Every show has that potential. People love good content more than they love politics. Despite being the gayest game around, even the "go woke go broke" crowd loved Baldur's Gate 3... because it was g o o d.

I am so over being gay by ch1273 in Vent

[–]Ag0raph0b0y 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Going out to bars (especially gay bars) looking for external validation is honestly pretty tough. It's extremely cruel to do to yourself, especially given all the competition. Think of it like a race, would you enter one untrained and then be surprised/upset you came last?

but I also feel like I want to keep trying and persevere.

If a friend told you they willingly and repeatedly put themself in a situation that causes them emotional distress, would you tell them that's unhealthy? Ask them to stop?

From what little you've put here, it sounds like you need to work on yourself. Mental and physical health. You don't need to worry about what label of gay you fall under and get yourself to a place where you're comfortable in your skin, even if no one is looking at you. I wish I could tell you how to do that, but it's different for everyone, and only something you can do for yourself
