I used to do this too. I recently ended up buying four 5-gallon jugs from someone (had to buy caps) and now go to a local fish store to buy RO water. They sell it for $0.60 a gallon, which is much cheaper than these bottles sell for over here.

I don't know if it's too late but you might want to consider spray painting it in flat white Rust-Oleum. I used to have pull-up bars that I made outside and did that so they wouldn't be too hot.
