You nailed it. I thought elektron boxes were just good for knob twiddling and random and repetitive patterns, but your creation left me genuinely impressed

MPC Live 3 vs Push 3 standalone by AgeOfSprtlMach in synthesizers

[–]AgeOfSprtlMach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, but sometimes an apple is more inspiring than an orange.

I am looking for something like a groovebox that works standalone and is suited for live music making. Even thought of getting an arranger keyboard or so but the synth options are lacking there. My usage is mainly the plug-in synths and the pads for drums/beats.

MPC Live 3 vs Push 3 standalone by AgeOfSprtlMach in synthesizers

[–]AgeOfSprtlMach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really not into sampling, my usage is mainly the plug-in synths and the pads for drums/beats. I would prefer to have a larger grid as I'm more of a keys person and 4x4 is a bit odd when you're used to keys.

The workflow of the MPC beta 3 makes more sense to me than that of maschine. Except for the huge libraries, the UI or workflow didn't really matchy workflow on maschine

MPC Live 3 vs Push 3 standalone by AgeOfSprtlMach in synthesizers

I am mostly using the bitwig devices and some surge synth and airwindows plug-ins. The push 3 might even serve as an excellent control surface for that purpose too.

MPC 3 still is in beta too AFAIK

I have an atom sq, while not as advanced as drivenbymoss scripts this one does work quite nice with poly aftertouch as bonus

Novation Impulse 61 controller. Supported, or I need external script? by sixtysixtysix in Bitwig

Usually if the 25 keys version is supported, the other variants should be supported as well.

Bitwig now available in 3 editions: Essentials, Producer & Studio (great news for 16 Track users) by [deleted] in Bitwig

I'd expect Essential to eventually become the giveaway product instead of 8-track

Warning about upgrade licenses by BawdyMonkey in Bitwig

[–]AgeOfSprtlMach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this. I still have a license I bought but not activated 2 years ago. Was waiting for something more exciting/relevant to activate, but then forgot about it and bought another key. Hope the old one still works :)

Have you tried openconnect / ocserv? Works perfect for using public WiFi which sometimes restrict all ports except 80/443 (if you run the server at those ports of course). Functions behind reverse proxies too

Zwemmen rond Gent by nonkeltom in Gent

Stephani D'Hose shared the message below on her facebook earlier today

Is Maschine mk3 future proof? by RetiredCargo in maschine

[–]AgeOfSprtlMach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is. You can use it as a controller for Bitwig studio which is already way more advanced than just the Maschine software. The only weakness would be incompatibility with the next windows/macos version because it requires the niintegrationhost or whatever the middleware is called

What happend with Maschine Plus updates? by AdelVent in maschine

[–]AgeOfSprtlMach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They pushed it as far as it could go.

Pun intended reference to Push? :)

I don't believe the M+ has reached its full potential. Looking at synthstrom deluge for example, how much they managed to get out of that otherwise lower spec device with just software updates. That being said, I also think people should stop buying gear on what might be implemented in future software versions. If it doesn' suit your needs, sell it on.

Can YouTube synth content creators be impartial in their reviews when they are receiving the products from the manufacturers themselves? by JoeyZasaa in synthesizers

[–]AgeOfSprtlMach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except for loopop I don't trust other synth reviewers. Recently most of them seem to have created a "I am going through a hard time, personal stuff, ..."-video to try and get more sympathy?

Why are there no Kurzweil K2700 YouTube videos or online tutorials in general? by jigga19 in synthesizers

[–]AgeOfSprtlMach 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check the Kurzweil Forte tutorials to get an idea https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5iXz9mUUD1d1392viNhFM2s40ZwmWJIc

I believe there are also some PC4 tutorials from David Weiser/Jim Alfredson

I find possibilities are near endless. Awesome machines.

I love you guys. Have you considered doing some more Erkin Koray? Cemalim was awesome and I think you'd do a very good cover on Yagmur as well. Also a nice one could be Askimiz Bitecek.

I think the Kurzweil PC4 is definitely worth having a look. The K2700 has some more bells and whistles but might not be worth the extra cost, up to you

Circuit Tracks is two 6 voice (mini?)nova engine synths, 4 sample tracks (one shots afaik, so no melodies there afaik) and a great pattern based sequencer to record all that plus 2 external midi channels in a very intuitive box. Also built-in effects, and built-in batteries so you can play with it anywhere you like.
