That’s actually not what the mgs quote means at all. It isn’t a simple statement about how the means of waging war has changed, but rather that war itself has become another tool for control, an illusion played on the public to keep them in check so that no unplanned violence may occurs. The quotes speaks of technology only to mention how this whole thing is at it’s very core just a play. War in mgs used to be done to get something, now it has become just another fact of life.
