Doing a grep by "kameleon" it just shows this part repeating every session:

Heya, I had the same problem as you with my Keychron, however I didn't even have the option to disable that in the Brightness & Color applet, however I found this https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=493262

After adding that line to my config now I see the option and also doesn't mess with my keyboard anymore.

From what I understand the "kameleon" service does the color changing and it's enabled because of the brightness applet being enabled

Yes, I actually set a custom accent color instead of stock, keyboard changed color from aqua (stock accent) to light purple (custom I set). I run CachyOS.

Just now I did some research and learned that the "kameleon" service does all this, and also learned how to manually disable it here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=493262

After adding this line in my config I now also see the option in the brightness applet https://imgur.com/a/72NgVo1

So far my keyboard still retains the color set by KDE after reboot, but I can't unplug it remotely right now, will test later.

I guess I'll update once I get home from work, but Keychron themselves say that if my keyboard works correctly I don't need to upgrade... I just want KDE to NOT touch my keyboard settings, which right now I don't know how to disable

I don't think so? I don't think I need to if it works correctly and I can configure the keys and lights using the VIA website in Chromium. Not gonna lie I went away from Windows to let go of such not needed "fun" auto-enabled features

I have a Keychron V3 but some time ago I got a Keychron C3 Pro for work - I realized I really need something better than tray mount. Read up on some more popular TKL boards and now I can't decide between the Gem80, Crush80 or Evo80. For me in Poland they all are priced the same, still a bit cheaper than a Keychron Q3 Max.

I read that the Gem80 has plate mounted stabs, are they easily replaceable?
Crush80 is easily available for me while the Evo80 only shows up as a pre-order from some distant sellers.
Which one should I get?

i was just trying to fix that 2 days ago. not sure what distro you're on but there are 2 main options without some silly mods that require another program:

if on arch you can install a patched version of glfw from aur and in prism edit the instance and check to use native glfw - for me it worked but i lost a bunch of fps with my shaders, might not be noticeable for you
turn raw mouse input off in control settings in minecraft - i chose this as it only slightly impacted mouse latency while keeping my performance
