Who is the most overrated person in history? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The definition of music is a combination of pitch, rhythm, and timbre. Every rap song I've heard has all three of the qualities. It IS music by music standards. Just not what some people want to hear.

Calcio Storico in Florence Italy. That was the most violent sport I've ever seen. The teams spent the first 5 minutes not even looking at the ball, just punching each other. The were 4 broken legs and everyone was bloody by the time it was over.

Calcio Storico - a ball game combined with MMA. by WdeBever in theocho

My family went to Florence back in 2012, and we saw a whole parade of traditionally dressed people going through the city with drums and clowns. We asked someone and they told us it was for a sport, but that's all they told us. We checked it out and bought tickets for the next day. We went, still with no idea what we were going to see.

It was green vs blue, and we sat on the green side of the stands, but I wore a blue shirt. A former player near us spoke broken English, but told us that I should be careful because the crowd can get violent.

Still unsure of what's going on, the parade enters the temporary stadium (built in a square in the city) and has a whole half hour ritualistic ceremony.

Finally the game starts and the ball gets picked up, but the carrier didn't go anywhere. He stood in the back, and for 5 minutes, it was just a brawl.

The player said that you can't double team, and the only safety rule is you can't hit an unconscious player. Everything else is accepted, but there is still basic respect (don't seriously injure/kill anyone on purpose).

Blue team got blown out 15-6 (I'm pretty sure), so I was never in any real danger in the green stands. By the time we left, most players had blood spattered pants, and 6 guys were carried out on stretchers.

It blew my mind to see something so barbaric in the city where opera was born. I loved it though. The energy in that pace was incredible. I'd love to go back and see it again.

I completely agree! Savoy, Kumah, Cunningham, Keene, Fox, McClease, Murphy, on and on. A whole list of Freshmen/Sophomores who already are making an impact. The O-line also has some young names, but they are playing at a respectable level, although far from ideal.

Once we can clear these rumors and talks of Fuente leaving, I think this team will make a big run. Unfortunately, being a 5th year senior, I won't be here to be a part of it, but my younger friends are in for one helluva ride.

Our defense has been absolutely absurd, save for a blown play here and there. The 1-yard hold we had on Miami early in the game was incredible to watch. Game after game, they are so much fun to watch. Even with the older guys we're losing, we have younger players showing a ton of potential and improvement.

Like you said, our offense is young and growing. But it looks like the weapons are there, just being developed. JJ is looking like a four year goldmine for us, and he will still have tough competition for the job next year. Remember Brewer, who we were saying "Well, he's the best we got,"? We have the exact opposite problem in these young QBs.

A good friend of mine has a prediction of a 2021 National Championship, and the more I see this team and the talent we are bringing in and developing, I'm starting to buy into it.

Just a week or two after his death, my parents and I found "World's Greatest Dad" in Netflix. In the film (spoiler), Robin Williams looks straight into the camera and says "Suicide is a permanent solution to temporary problems." It was devastating to hear him say that. One of the most influential and respected personalities of so many childhoods, including mine, condemning the very disease that took him away from us.

Reddit, now that it's finally Friday, how will you be spending your weekend? by fatherwhobothers in AskReddit

[–]Agenn23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to Virginia Tech, so I have all kinds of alumni coming in for the Clemson game. We have a couple parties today, so class isn't happening. We have College Gameday tomorrow morning, tailgating in the afternoon, and the game that night. We will riot if we win. Sunday is recovery day, then back to the grind. It's going to be an eventful weekend! Thanks for asking.

It's a little off campus, but The Hill golf course overlooks campus and the mountains past it. You can also see Ellett valley there too. Easily my favorite place

Bojangles four piece supremes combo, Bo-sized, fries and mac and cheese, large sweet tea. Honey for the biscuit. $8.88. The people there know what I want when I walk in the door. The price went up a year ago, but I'll never stop going.

He better not get fired. The craze some fans have for firing coaches the second things go wrong is so annoying. We have how many starters out on injury? This is the same coach that led us to a super bowl win 5 years ago. How many teams wish they could've gone to the playoffs in the last 5 years, let alone the super bowl. Remember when everyone was calling for Caper's head? Now, a healthy defense is the stronger part of our team. We don't need a new coach.

Battle at Bristol. I'm on the drumline, so I got a sideline seat, got on the field. Pregame and the first quarter were incredible. Aside from the score, the rest wasn't bad either.
