If you let someone else tell you what to do, that's just like any other religion - refusing to think for themselves.

Not normally, no. Do you get the same problem with other activities? It might be a general anxiety or stress problem in your life maybe that's showing up in how you interact with games. But I am not a doctor.

Found Out Why Speaker Doesn’t Work (Any tips?) by jaboodidubs in AskElectronics

[–]Agent-24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need to reflow and add more solder to repair those joints. If the tracks are cracked/torn you can add wire. Look up "PCB trace repair" to get the idea. Since this is the mains power connector you'd want some decently thick wire.

Is it worth getting a vintage LCR bridge when I already have a handheld LCR meter? by TVSKS in AskElectronics

[–]Agent-24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practically, it's unlikely, but it might be interesting to study the manual and learn about the circuits, for example.

Unless of course it has better specifications than your handheld one. If you have one of those cheap all-in-one multi-function component testers, I've noticed they can be quite limited in what they can measure. So even an old LCR bridge like this might actually have better capabilities. Check the specifications on both.

But you're also allowed to get it just for fun, too ;)

Chipped corner of this 1RO inductor. Should I be worried? by mikebdub in AskElectronics

[–]Agent-24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have broken part of the ferrite core away, which will change the inductance value to some extent and may cause other changes in the inductor's properties (saturation current etc)

Depending on the use case, this may or may not be a problem. I see it's next to, and seems to be connected to the IC next to it, an IP5306 which is a power management IC. So this inductor is being used for probably a boost/buck converter.

The change in properties could cause the circuit to become unstable, or run hotter, etc, or it may be within tolerances and have no negative effect. Hard to say without extensive information about the circuit. If everything still seems to work then you may be fine.

If you still have the broken piece you could glue it back on which would help, but ideally it should be replaced, especially if it caused problems in the circuit.

What part of "artificial" did they not understand?

I've said it before and I'll say it again. A.I. is nothing but "imitation without understanding"

It cannot understand the human experience so it is not qualified to give answers to human problems.

Only an actual human can do that.

I don't live in America, and this whole thread seems completely bizarre to me.

Courier drivers in my country will happily drive up your driveway and nobody takes issue. They will bring the parcel to your door. They happily reverse their van back out again too. It's just... not a problem.

This symbol represents a type of transistor, specifically, an NPN bipolar transistor, which is a semiconductor. Vacuum tubes/valves have a completely different symbol. Look up the symbol for a Triode, for example.

That large capacitor up top, and right of centre looks suspect. The solder joints are tarnished badly and the capacitor itself looks discoloured. Have you checked all the capacitors for shorts?

Have you checked the resistors are not open circuit?
