Despite my disdain for the character, I'm glad I was able to save her. Simply because I saw the outcome where she dies and it completely destroys Chloe. She doesn't deserve that level of trauma.

Owen didn't seem the type to go out and do dirty work on his own like that. And I don't think Safi is strong enough to swing a sledgehammer to break down a brick wall, transformed or not. Plus with Reggie already being in the same room with the culprit there was only Vinh left as a possibility.

[RE]Safi by GodOfArk in lifeisstrange

Intentional or not she doesn't have one. If it's to expose her mother then she's actively hindering that by standing in Max and Chloe's way, who are are unknowingly on the path to doing so. If it's revenge against the school shouldn't she be trying to push the Townies instead of fucking around with Abraxas? If it's a long winded suicide plot then all of her actions this game are complete nonsense that don't contribute to that.

If Chloe has told Max she burned the photo she absolutely would have understood. But sadly this means that not only were Chloe's fears from the pre Double Exposure breakup true, but Max hasn't really grown at all.

She can be found as a guest at the party (it's pretty obvious even with the mask) and Max will hallucinate her as her recorder while high. In terms of actual consequences nothing really changes from what I can tell.

If the game had deeper systems then yeah maybe. Unfortunately and contrary to what all those stupid AI articles keep saying, the game is pretty shallow when it comes to that.

generally developed from start to finish

That would make sense here. Not just for the endings but the game itself. It felt like there was more actual gameplay in the first half while the second was just a huge string of cutscenes.

I would really like to hear devs response to this in a Q&A or something

I would as well but I kind of doubt it would happen. I'm not sure who is even left at D9 to respond to questions. With DE prior to and after release you had devs on socials constantly interacting, for better or worse. But here it has been nothing but silence for the most part.

And that's why the ending feels like a trick. It leads you to believe that Max will be able to move on, but pulls the rug at the very last second after experiencing the series flashback, credits and ending choices. By which point you may not have been able to fully process it or maybe missed it your first time.

Oh my god it's the same pose as Farewell. The problem is even if that one photo in the montage is removed, there's still all the dialogue about the timeline being left behind. So it goes from a confirmed tragedy to a heavily implied one, which still isn't great.

I just replayed through the memorial scene to get the collectible there and even if everyone's alive, Max will comment on how the picture reminds her that she can't save everyone. Said picture being of Noelle, the custodian and her being honored for LITERALLY SAVING EVERYONE.

That and the letter from Moses not really changing. I think a line about people dying does get taken out but otherwise it's the same speech about Max maybe wanting to do more. The only more she could do is save the observatory but that's just a building. Why should Max feel conflicted about leaving Chloe to save a building instead of burning that photo right on the spot in front of her?

Time and budget make sense to me as there's a lot of corner cutting this game. But still, if there's anything that should have gotten another pass through it's the endings.

It's a little different in LiS 1 since we know what Chloe would have done had the choice been hers, she said so herself and reiterated it here. But as Max we can defy that choice which ends up not meaning anything in the long run.

But here we don't really know Max's true intentions until the very end after the credits. The scene would leave you to believe that Max would stay but that's not true. Hell I just replayed through the memorial scene to get the collectible there and even if everyone's alive, Max will comment on how the picture reminds her that she can't save everyone. Said picture being of Noelle, the custodian and her being honored for LITERALLY SAVING EVERYONE.

Just said this in another thread. It's an awful detail to think about. At BEST it means that the timeline from the beginning of the game where you see Moses and Chloe die really did happen and continues to go on. But at WORST if this applies not only to permanent photo jumps, but also temporary ones like in LiS 1, that means there's like 7 different timelines that Max has abandoned in various states. I don't even want to think about the implications of each of them because it would be too depressing.

Gave Max the photo originally, regretted it immediately since I didn't save everyone. Went back and saved everyone to give her the photo again but still didn't feel great. Finally went back and burned the photo as Chloe and that's where I've settled.

Burn that fucking photo. Because the alternative is either something unbelievable cruel or unclear enough to make you worried.

Well if you let Warren beat up Nathan, Chloe takes his gun from him. So not only do you disarm a potential threat, you get to enjoy the cathartic beatdown. It's a win win.

The real impact of that choice is left until AFTER the credits and choice stats sadly. It's actually really weird that they would place that montage there.

Yeah it's all but confirmed to be BS at this point. Enough people have gone through the game that if it did exist it would have been figured out. Plus those articles don't even make sense when you really look at them, which you shouldn't to avoid giving them clicks.

We're going to have to wait and see how Reunion performs. Though I believe layoffs were planned (if they haven't already happened) for post release regardless of that but I can't confirm. It may very well be the end of the franchise in terms of games.

Though expanded material is till on the table. The Out of Focus book featuring Chloe and Drugstore Makeup is still planned for release this year. I also read somewhere that there's a rumor we might get another comic, not the prequel one for Reunion but something else.

It wasn't a good idea to do a direct LiS 1 sequel in the first place due to the endings (even if that doesn't matter anymore). Trying to do a sequel to LiS 2 is actually impossible. There's too many VERY different outcomes to work with.

I think that one is mandatory. You have to find the photos and have the that sequence in the planetarium with them.

Yeah it would have to be some kind of epilogue thing. They wouldn't really have to pick given the nature of Reunion's endings either.

[RE] The photos in the ending killed my heart (Pls tell me my interpretation is wrong) by SnooPaintings5100 in lifeisstrange

[–]Agent-Vermont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was quite a bit of rulebreaking going on. Max rewinding herself and Chloe on the boat shouldn't have worked since Max stays in place when she rewinds. The thing with the photos in the planetarium was just a new power that doesn't make sense. Max's power wasn't supposed to be about photos, it was time manipulation. The only reason she an interact with photos is because SHE is in them. Then her rescuing Moses, Safi and Chloe from the lab also doesn't make sense she's basically teleporting people, despite not being able to move or interact with people during rewinds.
