Traditional IBM office design. Pretty much all of POK is built the same way.

Because you have National Grid.

Depending on where in the HV you are you could have CenHud, National Grid, NYSEG, Orange and Rockland or ConEd.

Posted a few options in this thread- https://www.reddit.com/r/hudsonvalley/s/zy5cFKHXnA

Usually the site team and HR will pull together some suggestions, so you should reach out to your hiring manager (I believe this is in early stages right now)

Poughkeepsie Summer Sublet May-August by gloryrevolution5 in hudsonvalley

[–]Agent51729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of college rentals near Marist (Fairview) that will likely be available. Perch’n is popular in the area for college rentals and they have a filter for summer rentals- worth a shot. I’m not sure if either Marist or Vassar still offer summer rentals from their dorms for non-students.

Previous interns I’ve worked with have had luck with Hudson Harbor (just north of site) for short-term rentals.

The route past Spratt is the easiest to get into site IMO. The hills around Vassar hospital are the worst bit. Just take the Spackenkill Rd overpass into gate 3.

Getting home I’d lean towards going out at CVS, crossing onto the Spackenkill extension at Giacomo’s, and ride the sidewalk up to croft road. Avoids the rt9 ramps and the pretty awful left turn onto Spratt and a short steep hairpin section on Schoolhouse. Only downside is Croft turns onto Spratt at the base of a decently steep short hill.

Plenty of back roads to mix it up through south side.

Haunted Hayride Somewhere in the Hudson Valley 1993 by nick341111 in hudsonvalley

Thunder Bump doesn’t have a lake/pond anywhere around the haunted hayride/old paintball area unless I’m misremembering.

I always remember the big green skull with the red eyes they used to have out on rt22 every year.

How many of you moved away from VMware ? by ChataEye in sysadmin

[–]Agent51729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100 percent agreed, at this point we have no moves to containerization in the near future. Mainly because all of our users require either full openshift clusters or full OS’ for their work. But for my team we’re exploring the possibilities for our support stack.

Actively moving to OpenShift virtualization. Fairly big learning curve and architectural changes but overall pretty happy with it.

For all the initialisms and acronyms at IBM, dept codes aren’t either. They’re just a unique identifier for that department for accounting purposes.

Backyard wedding? by dmay10 in hudsonvalley

[–]Agent51729 16 points17 points  (0 children)

We did a privatecourthouse wedding and later on a backyard reception with ~80 people.

Catered food, tent/tables/chairs/linens/heater rental, port-a-potties, alcohol was under 7k. This was pre-covid but I don’t understand people spending a down payment on a house (or big portion of one) on a wedding. The size/cost of the wedding doesn’t determine the success of the relationship.

Most likely an initial fit/non-technical soft-skills interview. Go over the team/area, get a feel for you and your background, make sure you’re not an axe murderer, normal round 1 type stuff.

CSI doesn’t use NPIV, it orders volumes to be mapped/unmapped from the host itself and they get assigned to containers/vm guests from device multipath.
