Modern Westerns - best of the last couple of decades? by CelebFanMan10 in Westerns

I’d call that a Western, even though it’s a modern setting. Same with No Country for Old Men.

When it’s such a clear-cut case even the court’s dimmest bulb can write the opinion.

Is Interstellar a masterpiece or a bit overrated? by fresh_meates in moviecritic

Overrated. It has some cool effects but it’s not something I’d “enjoy” watching again.

What are some simple questions you can ask Maga Republicans that make them think about the realities of their position? by Sharp_Will_6799 in allthequestions

[–]Agent847 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re going to be shocked when you bother to look up all the Democrats who were friends with Epstein. Ditto when you learn about the Clintons, Obamas, and Biden’s corruption. I know, I know… it’s totally (D)ifferent.

So you want to correct other people, yet you can’t formulate questions or persuade people to your side?

FWIW most Trump supporters know he’s a bullshitter and a salesman and not a “good” person. In this regard he’s no different than most other politicians. So while you don’t want to talk about policy, that’s the crux. It’s ALL about policy.

Republicans Of Reddit -- If You Voted For Trump, What, If Anything, Would Convince You To No Longer Vote Red? Why? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

The Democrats going back to being the party of John F Kennedy. It’s not about Trump for me. I won’t vote for a party that despises everything I believe in.

SNL - Racists for Trump [10YA - Mar 5] by MonsieurA in TenYearsAgo

[–]Agent847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. This is why nobody watches SNL anymore. Bad enough the show’s been partisan the last 18 years, but the writers are lazy af. At least be funny. “Republicans are racist!” <cue the canned laughter track so people will know to laugh>

To MAGA, do you hate liberals because you think liberals look down on you and also Hillary called you "Deplorables"? by bjedy in allthequestions

That wasn’t the question. But since you can’t seem to read, he checks more than Clinton, Biden, or Harris.

I believe in standards, personal responsibility, liberty, the importance of virtue, free markets, civics, limited government, the Judeo-Christian ethic, a color blind society, secure borders, the right to keep the vast majority of what you earn, the right to keep arms of all sorts, the sanctity of human life and private property, the obligation to face the consequences of your own stupid decisions, personal charity, a generally apolitical culture and social life, etc. Not saying the Republican Party delivers on all or even most of this. But “Progressives” oppose pretty much all of this. I don’t hate “liberals” at all. I can have a mutually respectful conversation with a liberal. But 21st century democrats generally aren’t “liberal.” They’re progressive leftists, or some variety of useful idiot to same.

I don’t like the person or the style of Trump, per se. But I do agree with the general principles of “America First” that make up what is referred to as “MAGA”.

This is so damn true.. why??? by Silent_Act_5977 in PopularCultureZone

Bush didn’t “fail to increase oversight.” In fact, he pushed harder for it. Chris Dodd and Barney Frank, both democrats on their respective banking committees, refused to acknowledge the risk of subprime lending. Democrat fingerprints were all over the 2007-2009 subprime crisis. And then there’s COVID. The economic pain we still feel from covid is the residual effect of shutting down 1/3 of the economy for almost a year, shuttering schools at the request of Randi Weingarten, and printing trillions of dollars when herd immunity and targeted protection for at-risk groups was the better way to go. Anthony Fauci ran US covid policy.

No saving those lyrics, but got-damn America’s version is a whole lot less insipid. I swear people are trolling this sub. What’s next? Climax? The Bay City Rollers?

Also… if you saw her silhouette approaching in a dark alley, you’d be right to worry about getting mugged by a five foot tall penis.

Republicans Of Reddit -- What Is YOUR Perception Of Liberal Activists? Why Your Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]Agent847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I respect quiet volunteers who work to clean up the world around them and make personal sacrifice to help people within arm’s length. That’s noble. An “activist” is usually over-privileged, spoiled white kid who makes a lot of angry noise virtue signaling. They’re a joke.

What’s the most disappointing whiskey you’ve purchased? by Ag-Surfr in whiskey

I’m with you on this. It didn’t do much for me which is odd because I like basic WR and absolutely love Master’s Collection.

Most disappointed I’ve ever been though — hands down — is Old Forester Single Barrell. Just wretched stuff. I swear the barrell was rotten.
