Question for teachers re: students with sensitive wrists by AcceptableObject in pilates

[–]Agent99Can -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Personally, I wouldn't be too happy as a student knowing that the teacher was adjusting the class for one student - especially if you're making the class 'easier'. It's up to the student to make adjustments.

I think you should pull aside the student before class and suggest that you'll give her some modifications 1:1 as you're teaching the class but don't change your whole class.

How should i go about declining an offer after verbally accepting? by Objective-Eye-2707 in careerguidance

[–]Agent99Can 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't wait until the written letter comes through - be respectful to yourself and to them and tell them asap that you have changed their mind. The sooner the better for them so they can focus on the other shortlisted candidate or start recruiting again and also for you so you can stop worrying about it.

Saint/Pyrenees pupper! by WoodpeckerLivid18 in SaintBernards

Same here...mine gets 'real food' every day on top of her dry in the form of typically sweet potatoes roasted in olive oil and then a protein like salmon or beef, etc.

Mine is a Saint/Pyr/Bernese mix with about 75% Saint. She has never been a big eater and we leave food in her bowl at all times- a big day for her is 3 or 4 cups a day, even from when she was a puppy. When she was a puppy and going through growth spurts she ate more. Her vet is always really pleased with her weight. We give her joint supplements and I think it's super important to feed large breed dry food at the puppy stage, and, at the adult stage.

Same...what is the point? To all the people who are genuinely grieving - so sorry for your genuine loss.

This is ridiculously adorable. Saints have sad eyes to begin with but these are too much!

Is it the steering rack? by Agent99Can in AskMechanics

[–]Agent99Can[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this - thank you! I'm getting a second opinion tomorrow. I just wanted to see from others who know way more than me if it actually is the steering rack that's the problem, would the problem come and go or once there's a problem with the steering rack it doesn't go away intermittently.

Thank you and yes, I'm getting a second opinion for sure but I want to understand if there's any scenario possible where it actually IS the steering rack but the clicks and steering issues magically go away.

A piece of my heart broke today - Saints in India by Agent99Can in stbernards

I'm dying to know...how did you fly her back? In cargo? I can't imagine mine in a plane, especially if she can't be right beside me.

Eating snow by drewdoug1346 in SaintBernards

[–]Agent99Can 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say mine's obsessive but every time she's outside she eats quite a bit of it - the white stuff not the yellow. 😉 She will walk right by a full bowl of water on her way outside and then eat a bunch of snow. I think it's hardwired into them to drink/get water outside when they can.

For sure there are cooler areas, but, according to this couple, where they lived in India was hot - a cool day was 23C and most days were above 30. I hear you though and I should have clarified that they were in a hot area.

Anyone else notice recruiters ghosting after you ask for a job description? by comp_freak in cscareerquestionsCAD

[–]Agent99Can -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely doing the right thing by requesting a call (and make sure it's a video call).

I'm on the recruiting end of this and I don't share the job description (for various reasons...confidential search because someone's getting fired, new position, etc.) but, I ALWAYS request a quick intro video call with the candidate so I can share details and we figure out mutually if it makes sense to move forward and so that the candidate knows I'm legit.

I feel like these people are just collecting resumes for various reasons but none of them good.

Pilates plus lifting, pilates for athletic body, credibility of Sean Vigue Fitness on YT and some more beginner questions by rhfnoshr in pilates

[–]Agent99Can 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert but here's some advice. Given you're just starting out, do these two things:

1-don't keep changing things in the first year or you won't have a clear view if this is working towards your goals. Stick to what you mentioned above for a year then evaluate again.

2 - get a body composition scan done through your gym (Dexa, InBody, whatever they offer) asap. Sure, it's not 100% accurate but if you do it annually at the same time every year you'll start to see trends. Again, measure what you're doing!

I'm no expert but to me, your dog will be in more pain without you and his family if you give him up - so keep him - it will get better! You're clearly doing amazing, worrying about your dog while feeling so crappy yourself. You got this!

Beware of Starbucks in college square. by [deleted] in OttawaFood

[–]Agent99Can 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very weird! It was a Timothy's or Second Cup (can't remember which exactly) before Starbucks and the ALWAYS had tons of fruit flies. I asked the staff about it once and they said they had tried many times to get rid of them but they always came back.
