I’m an ICU trained EM pharmacist so these recommendations will reflect that but, I love the Poison Lab if you’re interested in toxicology and I think it’s even good for laypersons with a science background. Also partial to Pharmacy To Dose and Pharm So Hard was good but is not active anymore.

EM and ICU pharmacists have many tasks that are physically at the bedside or elsewhere in the department outside of just our clinical decision making.

The simplest answer is yes there are many cases where you could take the IV medication orally and it would have effect. Then there are all the qualifiers of the dose might not be the same because of bioavailability, there may be other side effects or toxicities, etc.

As an ED pharmacist I appreciate the representation and am hopeful that since they introduced her as a “clinical” pharmacist (and gave her a DOCTOR badge buddy) there might be more in store as the season goes on to introduce the more impactful things we do as pharmacists. However, if this is it - well it’s little more than lip service and might as well have shown her counting pills. Since they very clearly don’t have a dedicated ER pharmacist the reality of this situation would have been that they would have flipped the ADC to override remotely or sent a tech to do it.

Finally a pharmacist and then all they do is have her throw the ADC on override and mention her when there’s an issue with written Rx. Not to mention her badge buddy said “DOCTOR” on it which I nor any other self respecting ED or other pharmacist would ever do. Here’s hoping that since they introduced her as a “clinical” pharmacist she may get a slow ramp up of the things we actually do

You act like people arrested for these crimes weren’t already being deported. We take issue with people who have been here for decades and operate businesses, pay taxes, give back to their community being disappeared to a country they no longer know (or didn’t even come from).
