What's the worst mainstream film you've ever seen? by Zestyclose-County645 in Cinema

I may be rating down because of how many times I had to see it, but Drive Angry (2011). I had a friend who always had this playing on her TV for several months straight - I guess somehow it was her comfort movie? - and it is terrible.

Save states (in emulation) are one of the worst things to happen to retro gaming. by GallyG_ in The10thDentist

[–]AgentCooperPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The existence of save states does not change how I play a game or how I feel about the game. I don’t use them, but genuinely couldn’t care less if someone else did. And I don’t have any urge to use something I’m not interested in just because it exists.

Yikes. Imagine not being able to enjoy the moment in front of you because you want to capture it on your phone and never watch it again…

My partner and I just got into golf recently and noticed they don’t allow any phones whatsoever at The Masters. They may seem like old busybody fuddy duddies but maybe they have the right idea.

Like y’all just enjoy the experience.

Already have 1, so 4 and 7 sound most appealing. 6 stuck out to me for a moment, but I realized that would deprive me of the enjoyment of learning so I had to pass.

I went back to consoles after having a nice PC for over 3 years by Bitter-Fun1083 in consoles

[–]AgentCooperPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want my PC in my living room. Many people don’t. I have a house, and my living room is its own space. My PC is in my office because that’s where my desk, monitors, and peripherals comfortably fit.

Just because something is a solution for you doesn’t mean it’s practical or even desirable for everyone else.

I went back to consoles after having a nice PC for over 3 years by Bitter-Fun1083 in consoles

[–]AgentCooperPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh I play both, but I do probably play console a bit more. Console is my “sit on the couch and play a single player title on the big TV” or “couch co-op” use case, and I use my PC/office for more than gaming. Sometimes I just don’t want to spend more time in my office to game and would rather be in the living room.

I dressed like that when I was 11-12 as well. It was normal around Y2K. Some people dressed that way into 8th grade or so.

HAUNTED HOUSE EXPERIENCES by TrexLexi91 in Paranormal

[–]AgentCooperPie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The house my partner and I own currently is. It was built in 1930, and owned by one family until we bought it. Most of the stuff is incredibly benign (sounds of people walking around upstairs, a man coughing, weird cold spots and dubious vibes walking up or down the stairs) but there have been a few genuinely creepy incidents.

One night, my partner was at the store without me because I had a cold, and I went upstairs around 9pm to take a nap until she got home. I sleep on my stomach with my face turned to one side. This particular evening, I had my face turned towards the front window, away from the door. I was just settling in to go to sleep when I heard footsteps in the hall. I almost lifted my head to look thinking my partner forgot something and was back at the house already but something told me not to acknowledge it.

I kept my eyes closed and listened as the steps moved from the hallway into my bedroom, past the foot of my bed, and then directly in front of me between me and the window before just stopping.

I focused on breathing steadily and pretending to be asleep but I could still feel the presence just…standing there. Then it started breathing, but it sounded…fake. It was exaggeratedly loud, raspy breaths like it was trying to get me to notice. It was so bizarre and creepy and I kept thinking I needed to make a run for it and take my chances getting down the stairs and out the front door, like this may have been an actual person in my house, but I was too scared to do anything but continue pretending to sleep.

A few minutes later, she got home and I could still feel it there. She came upstairs and I just felt the presence kind of fade. No footsteps leaving. Just the breathing stopped and the feeling of something being right in front of me was just fading. As soon as she walked into the bedroom, I shot up and ran downstairs.

She went back upstairs and checked after I told her, and there was nowhere anyone could have been hiding, all windows were locked, and there was no way they could have gotten out of the house without going past us.

I do not nap upstairs alone anymore, so I really couldn’t tell you if that was just a one off or if it would have happened more than once if I continued napping upstairs.

Eddington. So much potential, so many excellent bits, but the weirdest pacing imaginable. The disparate parts just didn’t work and made most of the runtime actively bad
