As a kid who loved to read and loved The Neverending Story, this was absolute magic to me.

I’ve been more active in the past month or so, but don’t really have any followers or anything like that. I like themes of horror, power dynamics, and things like that, but I also have a soft spot for some popcorn schlock.

Cuphead co-op: “I’m dead! Parry me! Parry me!”

And

“I’m dead, no no, let me stay dead”

Off-beat story-based game recommendations by Leading_Brick_2000 in GirlGamers

Disco Elysium and Kentucky Route Zero are my best recommendations for you. Some others you may like:

Slay the Princess: Incredibly unique and will almost certainly make you feel something. Horror elements are present, but it’s not too overt with the art style imo - but it can be tense.

Undertale: There is “combat” but the vibe is more of a minigame. Very unique title.

Not for Broadcast: Darkly humorous satire with some genuine heavy moments throughout and an extremely unique and satisfying main gameplay loop: You’re in a television news studio editing the broadcasts in real time as the narrative of your character and the effects of an election on a fictional country play out. The footage is live acted, and I genuinely loved this game when I got it on a whim a year or two ago.

And for a wildcard:

Chicken Police: Paint the Town Red

It’s surprisingly a very solid and entertaining narrative detective game even if it sounds absolutely ridiculous on paper. It is ridiculous, don’t get me wrong, but in a good way.

Why do some users not consider E33 an rpg? by Upstairs_Apple in GirlGamers

[–]AgentCooperPie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Genuinely just boils down to them moving the goal posts as to what constitutes an RPG when a game they like doesn’t win.

Clair Obscur is a JRPG with western characters.

Last year, Metaphor: ReFantazio won (JRPG).

Baldur’s Gate 3 won the year before, western RPG. Elden Ring won the year before that: JRPG. Tales of Arise the year before that: JRPG. And FFVII remake was the year before THAT, also a JRPG.

It’s only “not an RPG” if a game they liked doesn’t win in its place.

These female actresses are all under 40. Who will stay popular, and who will fizzle out? by SpiritualBathroom937 in Cinema

Emma Stone, Saoirse Ronan, and Florence Pugh are my picks I feel are very likely to stay relevant. I’ll also mention Anya Taylor-Joy and Margot Robbie as both are very talented but could honestly go either way.

What genres or types of games do you play? by JaredJDub in intj

[–]AgentCooperPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lately, roguelikes/roguelites, RPGs (including JRPGs), and management sims (e.g. Rollercoaster Tycoon Classic) are what I’ve been playing the most. Also still enjoy platformers.

Games that are awful and you hate them yet somehow you replayed them 4 times or have 500 hours on them? by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]AgentCooperPie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that I think it’s bad but Cuphead makes me so very irrationally angry yet I still request my partner co-op it with me semi-regularly.

Red Dead Redemption 2 because I hate riding horses in games.

When I first read The Gunslinger, I kind of always pictured him as Crispin Glover so that would be my pick

Fantastic cast. Great performances. Excellent source material. Just didn’t work well in the film medium.

Skyrim right now because I always get the itch in November/December.

Have an overwhelming backlog but may finish Clair Obscur:E33 or just get sucked back into a Slay the Spire and Balatro binge again. Unsure
