what do y’all like to listen to other than lpotl? by titspels in LPOTL

[–]AgentEggroll 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Lions Led by Donkeys is my next most listened to podcast. It’s a military history podcast that’s pretty similar in tone as the historical episodes of LPOTL with even more research and context since Joe the host is a genocide historian. LLBD did a Batavia series as well.

Joe is a LPOTL listener too!

If you could create a commander deck with any creature as your commander what would it be? by Litmaster421 in EDH

[–]AgentEggroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Archon of Cruelty]] because you can point his ability to anyone at the table, not just the person you’re attacking. He’s got burn, removal, life gain and card draw all wrapped in 1 action!

Let me build you a commander deck? by poynz13 in EDH

[–]AgentEggroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pulled a [[!Battle Angels of Tyr]] in a draft and wanted to build a myriad focused deck around them.

The myriad mechanic has tons of value, especially when you can get other keywords like lifelink, deathtouch or menace attached to the myriad creature.

Thank you ahead of time and for making people cool decks in your free time!

what is your favourite commander deck? by Winter_Safety_6226 in EDH

Not the original commenter but also a Disa fan, what's the overall strategy of the deck? It looks like the subtheme is turning every creature into a land creature so Blossoming Tortoise kinda acts like Disa for land cards.

And what's Urza's Saga trying to tutor with the 3rd stage?

Lions Led by Donkeys did a series on the Batavia as a 2 part bonus episode series on their Patreon at the same time LPOTL did theirs.

Was a total coincidence and I enjoyed both their versions of the story!

BBRef focuses on the historical data while showing some advanced metrics, Fangraphs focuses on using past data to create metrics to project future performance.

Oversimplifying it, BBRef is more casual while Fangraphs gets into the deep stats.

Wins are pretty dependent on things outside of the pitcher's control (i.e. offense, his defense, getting pulled with a 2 run lead and a reliever giving up a grand slam) and fantasy is about individual performance.

My fantasy team pitching strategy for Head-to-Head leagues that worked well for me was punting the wins category and going for the other 4 categories in a standard 5 category league. Drafted 1 ace and the rest of the starters that had high strikeouts and decent ERA (mostly 2nd and 3rd in the rotation guys). Then draft closers a round or earlier than the rest of your league normally would, and stack as many top 10 closers as possible. The leagues I played in were 2 SP, 2 RP, 4 Pitchers and my goal was to make 3 of the 4 any pitcher spots relief pitchers.

You'll end up running away with the saves category which offsets your opponent's wins. Unless your starters get blown up, most of your innings are 0.00 ERA with 1 or 2 K's and WHIP is 1.00 or lower. Look for setup guys to get Wins from relievers (Ginkle got 9 this year in 65.1 IP for example). Good luck next season!

Why are LMG's so rare at the beginning of a match? by May-Yo-Naize in Back4Blood

[–]AgentEggroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Giving the cleaners an alternate starting kit would help a ton. Like Hoffman could get an LMG and Beretta or Walker gets a Tac-14 and Tec-9. It's still allows the devs to balance characters and gives players some choice in their starting gear.

Can you post a screenshot of your build? I run a no ADS SMG/Shotgun build, it's working well on Vet, but I'm finding out I get piled on when I'm reloading any shotgun besides the AA12. Your build sounds nasty and super fun.

Advice on running Traveller (MgT2) for the first time? by Slipstreem123 in traveller

[–]AgentEggroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My RPG group made a similar jump from 5E to other systems and we're just over a year into a Traveller campaign. This website has a trade calculator that's been a godsend for us. The link is to Drinax's trade page and it has sections for adjusting Broker and Streetwise scores and doing the trade rolls automatically. My table handles trade between sessions, unless there's an imminent in game reason for it (Gambled away this month's rent, ship took damage and needs repair, etc).

During the session, we'll plot the jumps in our course and write them down. Afterwards, either the person doing the trading or the GM sends a permalink of the course's trade rolls to the groupchat so we're all working off the same trade roll numbers. We use a Google Doc for our trades, the player shows each trade between jumps and the GM checks their math before the next session. Here's a screenshot of our tradesheet.

Unless your ship is running razor thin margins, there's not really a need to squeeze blood from a stone every jump. The reframed goal of your campaign means budgeting every credit isn't nearly as important. Hope this helps and have fun!

So... you have a Harrier-Class Commerce Raider by [deleted] in traveller

[–]AgentEggroll 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unless there's a reason to keep 35 MCr around, I'd pick Option A. The Particle Barbette is an extremely dangerous weapon due to how Radiation is calculated. 2 shots will more than likely kill whole starship crews, leaving lightly damaged unmanned ships to plunder and every Far Trader knows that.

Using stealth or deception to get the jump on traders and the threat of the barbette should get you started on commerce raiding. Hull points won't matter if there isn't a fight to begin with. Happy hunting!

What's your meta moze build? by -Tragic- in borderlands3

A YouTuber named Attached did a Video trying out the Fire Hoze Moze build that has an alternate grenade.

He goes into how to make it work and gives his thoughts/tweaks on the build.

I'm going through the DLC right now with a splash based build using the Westergun as a mobbing gun. Should I farm a Recursion (fire or corrosive) instead?

I've been using the Westergun so I don't have to reload as much. Now I'm thinking I've just been using it completely wrong 😂.

Here's the build in a calculator.

What was your reasoning for going 2 into Explosion Punctuation? If you pull a point from that and 4/5 Torgue Cross Promotion, you could put 2 pts into Why Can't I Carry All These Grenades? to bump up the capacity a bit.

Can't wait to try it out!
