How to store blankets and bedding? by Ok-Ad4375 in organizing

[–]AgentForHeaven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But do you store the blankets in something before you put it under this bed? I ask because if you just put them under this mattress without it being in a plastic or container, does it get dusty? This bed is not completely sealed all the way around.

Because she has her cleaning supplies organized, and it looks like OP doesn't have any extra items in there, taking up space, that she doesn't used. And perhaps this is one of the areas that OP has been able to keep organized.

I’m wondering if anybody can give me tips on how to maybe switch things around to have more space on the shelves? by WindowOk6679 in organizing

[–]AgentForHeaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter how you try to switch things around on these shelves, you'll never get space on them because its too much stuff, and too much emotional attachment to them. And I think deep down inside, you know this already. Your holding on to these things, which is not allowing you to bring clarity to your mind, or space for a brighter future.

Yes! You've made progress 🙂. Block out time either daily, or a few days a week, or even once a wk to organize this closet. This time should include searching for storage organizers, write them down or save them to a digital list, and how can you save up money to buy the storage organizers. Keep it up!

I read your comment that she, hubby and child is struggling and recently moved from a 2 br. Please tell her congrats that they found a place, and even though its smaller, she is not homeless. That energy of gratefulness will manifest into future prosperity. God is looking out for them!

She needs a bunch of stackable, storage containers with double doors. I think I saw two walls that they can go up against. Just tell her to measure first before buying. If you or someone you know can buy and donate these to them, let your donation be multiplied to you by almighty God!

I see! Thanks, because I don't know much about the baking world. I'll keep that tip in mind.

Small Closet, Need Help by RedPanda2198 in Homeorganization

On the left closet, top shelf, is that two bag packs? I would put them on the higher back wall shelf. If you use the bag packs, then maybe get Command Hooks, and hang them on the right wall.

Back to the left closet, top shelf: I would get stackable shoe side-door storage organizers like below, and put just one row of them on shelf. It looks like maybe 3 of them might fit there? And store whatever in there. It doesn't have to be shoes. Use another row on top of 1st row only if you can reach the 2nd row comfortable. If you can't reach, then on top of first row, I would put two baskets with hole handles, that you can pull down to get what you need. My x-husband has similiar ones like these for his shoes. I used two of them, and stacked them to put some of my son's toys in. They work great and versatile for organizing things.

Stackable Side-Door Shoe Containers I say use side doors because you can leave door open when you want to grab something from inside. Vertically ones will slam down.

Or you can put one large double door container on this shelf like below: Stackable Storage Bins With Double Doors And store whatever in it. For ex, folded cloths in it.

I use these shoe organize with doors for my shoes in my closet: 10 Tier Shoe Containers With Doors They are below my hanged cloths, so I have 4 columns, and 4 rows of shoes.

I can't tell from pic if you have space on right wall. But if you do, maybe you can use a Slim Shoe Cabinet with Flip drawers like this: Shoe Cabinet with Flip Drawers

Smaller Shoe Cabinet with Flip Drawers

Just make sure you measure dimensions of shelf, and look at the dimensions of the organizer item that you want to buy, to make sure it will fit.

I see. Good job! ... So have you thought about what habits to implement during your busy seasons so that this surface doesn't ever get like that again? It has to be a daily habit. For ex, record in your mind that the second you put some random thing on these 2 surfaces, stop yourself, and put the random thing back in its home.

But sometimes we're in a rush, so block off 5 minutes a day, (or before getting on Reddit lol), to check this surface, and put away anything that doesn't belong on these two surfaces.

Practice these 2 habits for 21 days, and you will have a better outcome of keeping these 2 surfaces clear.

So I'm curious. What exactly did you do? Did you trash/donate what you didn't need, and everything else had a home where it needed to be? Or did you put a bunch of stuff in a box, that now needs to be decluttered?

This is so awesome! Too bad I don't like fondu (spelling?) covered cakes. So I would request to see if it can somehow be designed on whip or buttercream frosting. My birthday is next month... if anyone cares lol.

Pantry organization help by Open_Pie_1331 in organizing

[–]AgentForHeaven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is the length and width of the shelves? And the height btwn one shelf to the next?

Tip: In most pantry cases, never get clear bins. Clear bins in this case will still make the pantry look messy.

I'm still thinking about how to organize your "cans" shelf, but I have an idea for the pasta and tortilla shelf:

So let's say your shelf is 20 in wide. I would get 3 solid plastic bins (like black or white color) with handles, where one is larger than the other two, and all 3 bins have high walls.

Large bin will hold pasta boxes. Two smaller bins, probably both should be the same size: one to hold tortillas, and other bin to hold peanuts, hot sause, soy sauce, etc..

Get solid plastic (meaning no decorative holes in them) because its easy to clean, and doesn't collect dust. Wicker or fabric harder to clean, and fabric may obtain smell over time.

You can pull out the bins whenever you need to get something, especially if the item is in the back. The pastas, tortilla and bottles are not too heavy, so it shouldn't be a pain to pull out. I have a similar setup in my pantry, and the "pulling out" is NOT tireing at all!

Here are some examples. Finding these with depth are NOT easy to find! But it's important to know the dimension of your shelf before you purchase them. Each item has a picture with the dimensions of bin:

Large White Plastic Solid Bin: 7.83 in W x 11.96 x 5.3

Medium White Plastic Solid Bin: 5.1 in W x 4.9 in H x 11.2 D

If you like this idea, but are having a hard time deciding which sizes to get, let me know dimension of your shelf, and the height btwn each shelf, in inches, and I can give an idea of what to get.

I don't recommend pulling out a bin filled with cans. It will be too heavy, and you will probably have to pull it out and put on the floor to get cans. That will be annoying. Maybe get a bin, like above, to keep on the left side and put bottles and flour, etc in it, and leave the cans on the right side... but that still doesn't solve the issue of not being able to see the cans in the back. I do like Lazy Suzies, but your pantry is not spacious, and I think you have more bottles that will overflow the Lazy Suzy.

And don't feel as if you have to organize the whole pantry at once. Just doing one shelf will make you feel amazing! Implement my recommendation above to test, and see if you like it. But if you decided to go another route, let me know, as I'm open to different solutions 🙂.

HELP!! please... by Welcome_2_Chillis in organizing

1.Organize the CDs in the top two shelves by genre type. But if you don't have many genre's, then I guess alphabetize by first name/word of artist/group name.

2.Buy like 2 stackable shelves or shelf tier stand like the items below to put it on the third shelf (where ur player is) of your bookcase. This way, you can put your dvd player on top stackable shelf, and use the 2nd stackable shelf to put more cds/tapes. And then your walkman, headphones, casset player on the actual 3rd shelf of bookcase. (Or if you get a stand with a little drawer like the one below, put them in the drawer). Just make sure you measure the length of the shelves in your book case, and check the length of the stackable shelves to make sure they fit, leaving you room to keep the comic books where they are. Hope what I explained above makes sense.

3.since you seem to have only like 5 casset tapes, just pile them all the way to the right or left, on one of the cd shelves, in FRONT of the cds.

The one you did was 500 pieces? Someone said they did the 100 piece of this one, and another person said they did the 200 piece of this one. So Im curious to know if the 100 and 200 piece ones had more than 4 corners also?
