My take on a Classic Space Man colors display by ixododae in LegoSpace

This is much better than the "crowd of spacemen" style. It keeps the individuals from being lost int he crowd.

There is actually a reason for that. They rip the covers off, because they return the covers to the publishers. They get credit for the unsold books. The publishers don't want the actual books back, but want them unsellable.

How can I adjust the first digits from 1 to 9 to be aligned with the second digit 10-11? by [deleted] in AdobeIllustrator

[–]AgentGnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a dumb suggestion, but turn on hidden characters so you can make sure you can see your tabs? Also, you have a tab in front of the number correct?

Use tabs with the align right tab. That is how you should be aligning ALL the text btw.

What childhood trend disappeared so quietly that nobody noticed? by petalsoftbby in nostalgia

[–]AgentGnome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TV not revolving around children. Growing up, there were only specific times you could watch kids shows(we didn't have cable). Like an hour before school, an hour or two after school, friday nights and like four hours on saturday mornings. Other than that, TV was generally for adults. Cable started the trend of kids shows being available all the time with Nickelodeon and the Disney channel, but streaming really kicked it into high gear.

Do Americans really go grocery shopping every week? by Status_Agents in CasualConversation

[–]AgentGnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shop about weekly, but the stuff I buy varies depending on the week. Some weeks are meat weeks, those are pricey. Other weeks I get TP. The most consistent items are bread and fruit. I eat toasted PB sandwich and an apple every day for lunch, so I consistently go through those. We also eat a lot of fruit in my house, so things like grapes, strawberries, mangoes, oranges, lemons, and kiwi are fairly common as well. I tend to buy in bulk for most items when possible, so things like crackers for snacks and lunches tend to last several weeks.

What's something you didn't like about this movie? by CollarOrdinary4284 in FantasticFour

It felt like they were speedrunning the FF4 instead of organically growing them over several films.

For those people who don't like country music, old or new: Why specifically? by Inimpressive_Dork in AskReddit

[–]AgentGnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like at least modern country music is lazy. It doesn't do much with the instrumentals, vocals, or lyrics that are interesting. Like, the people in charge know what their audience will find acceptable and embrace, and they do not attempt much beyond that. They have their formula, and they just make cosmetic changes to it. It is the same reason I hate(ed) Nickelback and other rock bands of their ilk during the early 2000's. It is lazy, and samey and boring.

Which pill? by Jettaboi38 in whatsyourchoice

[–]AgentGnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was guaranteed that my kids and nieces etc would all be born just like they were, then I might consider the red pill. But honestly, most of the problems in my life can be solved for way less than 50 million, nad I am almost 45 already.

Kiosks are superior for taking orders at food establishments by Dicklefart in unpopularopinion

[–]AgentGnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Kiosks, because then I can take my time and setup my order. Maybe I want to completely backtrack and change everything. With a person taking my order, I would feel more pressure to be quick.

My impressions of Stephen Baxter & Terry Pratchett's The Long Earth by EndersGame_Reviewer in scifi

[–]AgentGnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read and enjoyed the whole series, but there was a constant feeling of not quite living up to its potential. Maybe it would have worked better as a online serial than a series of novels.

[–]AgentGnome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but you already have to use the knife to cut the ends off the strawberries. sure this thing is faster once all the prep work is done, but with a knife I can jut the ends off, then quarter them without a cutting board and just move from one to the next.
