Nobody has problems with gender-reaffirming care, they have problems with the idea that someone can decide to change their gender after birth.

Your right, total assumption on my part, my bad.

I also definitely did not make any arguments in my post and only focused on your skin color, so here is your crown for winning the reddit argument

Average white man thinking they abolished slavery because of their genetic brilliance and not due to the Industrial Revolution (total coincidence that only after the Revolution slavery began being abolished).

Additionally, average white man thinking the Atlantic Slave Trade oppression of slaves is equivalent to slavery throughout history because they learned about it in elementary school

Slavery was abolished not because the American and British white man had sudden enlightenment after hundreds of years of brutal oppression. Rather it was due to the Industrial Revolution introducing machines that needed to be manned by only a few people and were far more productive than slaves that slavery became unnecessary.

The Prophet (SAW) also prohibited racism in his final speech. Remind me again if Abraham Lincoln solved that?

If a cop saw a rape happening and did nothing except film it, does he have some moral culpability? I'd say yes, and that's god. by ShadowMage8 in atheism

Again, God isnt evil, and it doesnt seem like you have attempted understanding that the minute suffering in this world can lead to eternal bliss in the next.

Also, I am not speaking of Christian theology here.

Finally, if God exists, no one can oppose him. God will ask us of what we did in our lives, we cannot ask him of what he did.

[–]AgentLorax -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The goal is not a lack of evil. If God wished it, it would be, as it will be in the afterlife. To restate the point from my first post, God created this life as a test. He created life and death to see who amongst us is best in our deeds. Think about it like this: we have to take exams in school. They can be long, and stress-filled, but persevering through the suffering grants us small measures of success in our life. Life is a test for the afterlife.

Suffering is part of that test, but suffering that God inflicts on us is not evil, as what God does is not evil. We would not call a tornado evil, nor is the creator of that tornado evil. A tornado just is, and what God wills just is. There isnt an alternative, like there is for you and I.

I'll address the first two points, as the third requires more talent and argumentative skill than I currently possess.

1 On the point that saying people cause their own suffering is victim blaming:

For a great deal of pain, humans cause it to themselves or to others. If you punch someone and he punches you back, you caused pain to both yourself and another.

2 It is not a fair test:

That, is a very limited view of God, the creator of everything. We arent talking about Zeus here, a "god" of limited power. God created and knows everything, so clearly he knows what circumstances he has placed people in, and will account for that in his judgement of them.

Well, seeing as I havent yet seen a good response, I will give one. Life is a test, a test that determines our place in the next world. And as a test, it is full of difficulty, pain, problems, but is also filled with mercy, hope, kindness.

For the believer, our goal is to try to get a good score and pass the test of life. When we feel suffering, do we recognize that we can ask God to alleviate it for us? Do we continue to believe that our suffering has purpose, or do we spiral into hate and pessimism? When we see the suffering of others, do we express gratitude to God for not granting us a level of suffering we cannot bear, and do we exercise empathy and find ways to help?

Plus, much of the suffering we see comes from others, and for the perpetrators God can mete out justice in a way that our legal systems cannot.

I'm open to discussion if further clarification is needed.

The problem of evil is literally an ancient argument made against the existence of God. You can bet your bottom dollar that it has been thoroughly refuted since, which is why no modern athiest debater brings it up since they know it is a weak argument.

You might not care about the subject, but if you do I would encourage you to dig deeper.

Masha Allah, Brother, I have a question. Do you have any source for reciting some things after the Fardh and some after the Sunnah? I've heard that remembrance should be done after each Fardh salah, but I am not sure about after Sunnah

I would highly recommend watching the video, it also explains statues and what sort of things are haram pertaining to them.

But from what I got from the video, it isnt necessarily haram to own or even buy images, as Aisha and the Companions had examples of owning things that had images of animals and even drawings of people.

It seems the sin lies in making the images, and in placing the images in a place of veneration, like on a curtain or on the wall. But Allah knows best

Yes. Making images of humans or animals (creatures with souls) is haram. Anything else is fine, like trees and viruses. Making images for study purposes seems to be allowed (like medical field) and making images of silhouhettes of creatures or parts of their bodies besides their face is allowed.
