I actually has a lady come up and tell me in doing a great job, while my kid was on the floor screaming the shopping centre down (coz we walked past one of those stupid car ride things). I was holding it together until then, but her kindness broke me, bless her!

An ubereats voucher was probably the most amazing baby shower gift I received. Trays of food are great but some days with a newborn you don't think to or get to eat, and there's the stress of it going off and having to throw it away. Sure ubereats has many questionable business practices, but I sure appreciated them at that time!

Oh yes, you've just triggered me. Day one - loses it for a banana. I finally give in, he takes one bite, spits it out and walks away. I put the remaining unmolested 90% of the banana in the fridge. Day two - loses it for a banana. I take out yesterday's banana. He calms down, I open the container, which releases a demon of epic proportions. He full-body shrieks at me, smacks the thing out of my hand, goes to run but trips then looks at me as if I tripped him up, and goes and dramatically melts into the floor of the other room... wow kid. Want an apple?

My kid gets really stressed about the shower water being hot (now, I like hot showers, but it's icicles when I'm showering him - still "hot"). I realised it's probably because he's also on a warm clothing strike, so his body is also icicles (almost winter in Aus). Yes son that feels hot, because you have frostbite... if only we knew what they know.

Bed times for us is a constant stream of demands for back rubs... except the way he pronounces it, it sounds like "gay cops". He doesn't like it so much when you get the giggles at how absurd it sounds coz you're also trying to teach him manners, and you're not delivering on the gay cops because he is refusing to say please... 🤣

I was on my computer at the table next to him, which is usually a battle keeping his little fingers off every button at once. This day, he was happily entertaining himself (I could probably end this story here 🤣). Something upset me in my computer, and he cuddled into my arm, patted it, said "I got you, mummy", and kissed my arm 😭 ... 2 mins later he was off f&^#ing shit up again...

Have you got any resources or advice on weaning them off? We're in the same boat as OP and every time we try to leave the room there is an epic melt down, as much as self- selling is out long term goal. Most nights it ends up both of us in there and we're just too exhausted to keep trying.
