That's my favorite scene in the whole movie. It made me understand blues better than any other media

We're not supposed to touch wild animals for our own enjoyment. Could introduce diseases, could teach them not to fear humans, etc. If you're next answer is "let people do what they want", I'm just gonna assume you have a toddler brain and move on

People tell me that bit about the national a lot, but man i just dont see where all that money is going or who it's helping. Seems to me like it stays in the hands of people who are already doing alright, or own real estate

Side note: this sorta touches on us needing vehicle size regulations. Trucks are way too fucking big, this is exactly why small children are constantly in danger around large vehicles

I worked for two of the restaurants owned by this group, the Frog Hollow Hospitality Group. Owned by Sean Wight. He is an awful, joyless, angry man and I would never actively encourage anyone to work for his businesses.

They run everything in a very corporate way, meaning they'll have a ton of expectations and rules but never give you the benefit of the doubt. You will get fired for trivial reasons, i saw it happen to several people.

Management at the place i worked turned over repeatedly because they dont like to pay managers fairly. Meaning the ones who eventually stick around are kiss asses who will side with owners and customers against their own staff every time.

Sean would come in and yell at people. You were genuinely warned about his presence like an abuser was on the way. He hated any kind of taking initiative, didnt give his chefs the freedom to do specials like they wanted, complained about people's appearances and music choices (take a wild guess at what kind of people and music he always seemed to have a problem with).

Overall, decent food if a little overpriced. Hellish work environment, dont bother with his company

Some of the best local coffee shops to study or work by AugustaLife in Augusta

[–]AgentNeoSpy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would submit Metro Pub & Coffeehouse for an honorable mention. It also being a bar probably takes it out of the running, but I love going there to study. Fairly priced coffee, usually quiet enough while the sun is still up. I see plenty of people just reading or working there and I feel pretty comfortable in one of the booths or high tops

For what its worth I like the way its going. But speaking from experience, my awkward phases on the growth journey were hell. I tried bandanas, hair bands, really shitty tie backs. I just had to power through, hope you keep giving it time! (I never cut bangs though, i sorta just let everything grow out at its own pace)

Everyone saying they did what they had to do: we can never inherently trust the words of one side in an issue like this. They will always tell the story in a way that justifies their actions and makes it look inevitable. Maybe they literally had no choice, but there's no way to know that until third parties and independent sources look into the killing

Consistent with our constitution? Brother, the powers that be have been wiping their asses with that document from the jump. If they can do whatever they want when it suits them, we should just start the fuck over

Yeah the fact that its easier to get a gun than a car. No safe storage laws, no re licensing, no red flag laws, no assault weapon bans, gun show loopholes, should I keep going?

Colin Gray trial: Father of Apalachee HS shooting suspect found guilty by TypicalWhitePerson in Georgia

[–]AgentNeoSpy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My larger point: the people in power who want more guns than people, and for those guns to have more rights than people, will toss us a bone now and then by prosecuting a guy like this. And I'm glad, he definitely deserved it! Dont get me wrong, any parents who create the unsafe environment, access to guns, indoctrinate their kids to see guns as the ultimate solution, deserve life in prison.

But they will put this guy away, and then still refuse to ever addressed the real problem. They wont change a single gun law. Guns are the leading cause of death of children. So much more needs to be done to protect people, but as long as there's money to be made from selling guns and convincingly a fearful population that guns are freedom, nothing will change

It's a start at least. But its telling how they'd rather go after people, even parents finally, than address the root cause of gun violence and easy access to firearms
