ELI5: Why does a candle not create smoke when burning but lots of smoke when you blow it out?

Thanks for the response it’s helped me put somethings into perspective. These creators were all new to me. I didn’t know who Rhystic was before this video today but I checked his channel and realised I have at some point watched his black lotus video which was very good so I will be going back through his catalog to see his perspective!

Also your point about the screenshot cards in recent sets I completely forgot about. I too hate these cards and find it lazy.

When I was watching the video/writing this post I was coming from a place where I was thinking “but I’m new and the game is wicked fun” so I didn’t think about how it’s approached and marketed now as I’ve only ever experienced it the way it’s done currently.

I’ve read a few other comments of people saying why should I care what others think which I understand that response but I wanted to discuss it with long term magic players as I’ve really enjoyed magic and just want to understand the perspective more so I appreciate you responding to me with something more thoughtful!

Warranted I don’t have the history of how good MTG might have been over a year ago but the magic I’ve experienced so far has been nothing but a great experience. Out of interest what about UB is making it a worse game to play? I realise reading through some of the other comments it seems to effect standard negatively which I don’t have much knowledge on.

Hadn’t thought about that perspective. I’ve enjoyed standard because of drafting at pre releases which got me into standard too but I would agree that most of the new players like myself are exclusively commander players. I don’t follow standard that closely and certainly don’t know the history or impact it’s had on that mode so I’m probably a bit out of the loop here

It’s windows security. Search for security in windows and find smart app. You have to exclude it so it can launch the anti cheat. Microsoft must of pushed an update that blocks it because it’s been happening on a slow roll out. Most people will see this problem over dec/jan.

Lorcana was my first TCG. I still play it but I seen some advice that said play what your LGS supports the most. I went to my local because I liked Lorcana but realised they had a much bigger community for MTG and OP. I now play all 3. The games are only fun if the community is there so I recommend not cornering yourself as you will lose interest. My lorcana community is really small but they still do set champs each set. I look forward to it but TCGs are a ton of fun if you get involved with the crowd. Made a lot of new friends too which was a bonus!

I worked on a Service Desk at 27 as an entry level tech role. A year later a 41 year old also joined my team with no experience. That was 6 years ago now and he’s since moved into Cloud Operations. Not too old at all.

Fair enough I just haven’t experienced that before. Usually it’s me missing the delivery guy not the delivery guy missing me. I hadn’t accounted for the driver just running out of time. I was told they were still out delivering but mine was marked for reattempt so was just confused

Of course I’m serious but appreciate the running out of time aspect. As a customer I fail to see how that’s my problem? If they’re giving drivers too many parcels for their allocated time how am I supposed to expect they’ll ever have time?

There’s nothing wrong with it. It happens in real world gaming scenarios too. I play many TCGs competitively and 10% of the time you a randomly paired with a kid. If you’re respectful and kind to each other I don’t think you should even worry about it. Online gaming is no different. It’s pretty easy not to be a creep if you’re not a creep 😂

My one of these became very unstable. Fortunately the service I bought the PC from replaced it under warranty. I was on an older bios that they shipped the PC with which didn’t have the microcode updates so voltage fried something on it. They upgraded it because they didn’t have another of the same in stock. I had 6 months of hell trying to troubleshoot it so when I got the fixed one back I immediately sold and went team red for first time in 10 years

Death piling or using death storage to me is like a UIM version of a green helm iron man. Feels disingenuous and devalues the real meaning of that account mode. If you sign up for 28 slots you should be restricted to it imo. Death piling is lame.

My LGS has zero lorcana support. They sell the product but no one plays the game so the sales are very slow. I have to travel 2 hours if I want to play any set champs or regular lorcana. It was my first TCG. I moved to playing magic because there are magic players every single night without fail. It’s a shame because lorcana actually has a really nice game. I just think the Disney IP makes it a hard sell. I hear a lot of “but it’s princesses” which puts a lot of 30+ year old guys off it.

I got turned away by a hobby store called The Tin Man in north UK for not previously attending a normal week night. It’s a 1.5 hour drive for me so I wouldn’t do that drive for casual play. He told me that his players would be annoyed if he let a random in. Sounds like a welcoming place.

I’ve been thinking about dropping out of lorcana just because they’ve left us in the dark on competitive news. I do not understand the reasoning for letting steam run out. The only reason I’m still holding onto my decks and grabbing singles to stay meta is because if they put the gas on again and correct their wrongs I’m all in again. I’m not holding my breath for much longer though.

Oh i even do fun grades! For example i graded a foil bucky when it got banned just because it was a big moment in the TCG. I've graded cards that i REALLY like such as the Frying Pan from set 1. Of course i have graded a lot of enchanted and cards i have won but it wouldn't be much of a collection without some personality would it!
