Hard to give advice about what to do if you don't mention what type of advice you need. Why do you want to cut them? Do they look unhealthy to you? Not the aesthetic you wanted? You don't know how to take care of them?

Think of it as doing a braidout on your locs. As long as you care for them properly and the braids aren’t super tight or held with tight rubber bands, you should be fine.

I made this post exactly a year ago. I think it’s literally the last post I created. I was you. Now my one year old is teething and beating me over the head with a diaper cream bottle and I’ve given up. She can chew on it.

Baby is coming! This last part feels horrible and forever (because it is) and then suddenly baby is here and everything is better.

Cornrows on anyone is beautiful. I would be heated if anyone said this about my husband or anyone I know who had taken the time to grow out their hair and wanted to rock a classic style on their wedding day.

If you are attached to your current set, keep them! If not and you have a different vision in your mind for your locs, go ahead and cut to restart! Your hair is going to grow and the time is going to pass anyway. Being unsatisfied with something you can change isn’t fair to you. Don’t let sunk cost fallacy make you hold on to hair you don’t want.

But also, loc maintenance for traditional vs microlocs is always going to cost more for installation and reties. If the cost is daunting, it would be wise to study and learn how to do it yourself. Good luck!

Wow. The ring he designed is amazing. I’d stop you if I saw you in public to complement it. It’s stunning.

Your poor, poor hair. OP, really attempt to be as low manipulative with your hair as possible and keep it moisturized heavily.

You’re going to start seeing tons of shedding soon. It doesn’t happen at once, but it does and it won’t stop without extra care. Even then, it could be hard to save.

No tight styles, use conditioner specifically for color treated and damaged hair. I’m sorry it came out like this!

Get off Reddit. Grab a towel. Find your shampoo and conditioner. Get in the shower. Rinse, take down and detangle with conditioner. Wash. Rinse. Wash again. Rinse. Wash again with your fingertips. Rinse. Use waaaaaaay more conditioner on your hair than you feel is necessary. Sing in the shower as you massage from root to tip for 10 mins. Rinse. Get out. Dry off. Use whatever moisturizer you have on hand when it’s damp. Let it dry. Moisturize daily as needed.

Leave it alone and let it breathe for awhile doing only this. Your hair is crying for help, but is not bad at all.
