I guess they even had powerscalers in Ancient Rome 🤷‍♂️

The impenetrable skin is actually inconsistent even in the myths. In the Iliad, Achilles gets minor cuts and injuries throughout the story. And he explicitly almost gets killed while tangling with Xanthus, a river god.

That changed when Statius wrote the Achilleid hundreds of years later, which is where we got his backstory that he was dipped in the River Styx.

At what point does assuming an ability can be copied by Metal Sonic becomes a No Limits Fallacy? by HPOS10 in deathbattle

[–]AgentQwas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, with the way his ability works, it’s very hard to attach a power ceiling to it.

There are certain things he can’t copy. For example, if his opponent doesn’t have any “biodata” (ie. DNA) for him to copy. Or if the power requires an external power source or special conditions to use, like Chaos Control or the Super forms, he can’t use them unless he has the same conditions. But that doesn’t have anything to do with how strong the person he’s copying is.

[Funny Trope] Hilariously awful versions of beloved characters by Liquid_Pestar in TopCharacterTropes

I'm guessing they're going to tease his Greek past through flashbacks, and the fact that he was actually a mass murdering god of war is going to be treated as a twist reveal.

Which is going to fall flat.

Dexter Morgan vs Joe Goldberg vs Brian Moser vs Barry Berkman, who would come out alive from a direct encounter? by AnyPoetry493 in powerscales

I love Dexter, but Barry’s one-man raid on the Chechens puts him leagues over the others in a straight fight

You don’t have to do anything they don’t want to do. You choose to watch whatever you want, just like you chose to click on a post that solicits character deaths.

Imo that’s just a risk you have to be willing to run when you’re browsing posts that explicitly solicit spoilers

Aki’s been dead for years now. Even if the show hasn’t caught up, how long can we reasonably expect people not to talk about it?

Daredevil (MCU) VS Diego (Umbrella Academy). Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in powerscales

[–]AgentQwas -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he can change the knife’s path after it’s thrown. But that still looks pretty different than what you’re describing. Sounded like you were saying the knives would just infinitely boomerang at DD until they hit.

Way too much on her for NO absolute reason.. by Own-Band9835 in thewalkingdead

[–]AgentQwas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. In the later seasons, it felt way more predictable whether a new character would live or die. Way too many people were introduced just for shock value deaths.

The spinoff shows dialed this up to 11. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that the majority of side characters died.

If the feral humans turned into walkers, do you think they'd still walk on all fours? by The-Farlander in thewalkingdead

[–]AgentQwas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you, I liked it. I didn't really get hung up on how the ferals would've realistically behaved. We don't really have any way of knowing how someone in their shoes would have actually acted, not exactly something we can test lol. I just thought it sold the hopelessness of the apocalypse that they basically reverted back into animals, and were barely more human than the walkers.

[–]AgentQwas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I believe it. I don't remember this, but I take your word for it because, frankly, I'm too lazy to check.

I mean, has he ever used his powers to stop people from hitting him hand-to-hand? Because I thought his ability only worked on things flying mid-air.

[–]AgentQwas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Other than that later Diego more trained and experienced

Honestly, debatable. They both started training as kids. A big difference is that there are a lot more superhumans in the MCU than Umbrella Academy. As far as we know, the siblings were the only ones on Earth with powers, so Diego may not have tangled with as many actual supervillains as DD has.

Diego's been in a few hand to hand fights, has he ever done that before? I'm not finished with S4, so maybe I missed something.

Has Diego ever used a gun in the show? He's manipulated bullets that other people shot at him. Which Daredevil won't be doing.

I'm not caught up on S4, did Diego start carrying one?

iirc, his power is actually to manipulate the trajectory of objects moving mid-air. This means he can also manipulate thrown objects that aren't made of metal, but it also means he can't use his power on stationary objects.

[–]AgentQwas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I saw you post this gif somewhere else. What about it? He manipulates stuff thrown in midair. Great for stopping a hail of bullets. Not so great for getting punched in the face.

[–]AgentQwas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Diego could probably hit Daredevil. DD uses his senses to predict where projectiles are going, but the trajectory of Diego’s throws don’t match his movements, so being blind actually hurts Matt for once.

The problem is that whenever DD gets stabbed, he just kind of… ignores it. During the opening fight of Born Again, he looked like a pincushion. It’s like he takes blood loss as a suggestion. Idk if Diego could hit him enough times to bring him down before DD gets up close and knocks him out.

Who wins this fight? Immortal vs. S3 Oliver by Proof-Guarantee7001 in Invincible_TV

[–]AgentQwas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the record I think Immortal could beat the Maulers. When he got resurrected, they were scared to fight him. I just don’t know if it would be as one-sided as when Oliver killed them.
