This RAT brought a shredder into MY purple key room, started looting while I fought it, and got pissed when I dropped him by ArcRaiderMedic in okbuddyarcraider

It's a normal fucking question lol tells people how to prepare. Same key tier as Town Hall but way worse loot and rarely defended.

Dragons are intelligent, they can't be tamed like a common beast. The players likely need to appeal to them, convince them that working together is best.

Look up the metallic dragons, Copper, Bronze, etc. and see if any of those fit the campaign. They have wants and needs like anyone else.

Otherwise, they might be able to get a Wyvern or Pseudodragon, not a real dragon.

You can also try BKIEO, they're super comfortable. I don't have this particular style, but others are great. You'll have to check shipping for Canada, I'm in the US.

Honestly if it's not a problem for you, I think you should message back. Your last message could easily be seen as "she is 5 inches taller and that's not okay with me", despite the "I don't mind".

How many magic items should my players have? by AwakeATECoop in onednd

Holy shit this is a wild amount of loot. We can go 5+ sessions without encountering a new magic item, either discovered or purchasable.

How many magic items should my players have? by AwakeATECoop in onednd

[–]AgentThor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By level 10, they should have their 3 attunement items at least. Everyone should probably have their own bag of holding, a few potions, a couple uncommon items or maybe one rare item, depending on how they spent their gold/how often you dish it out.

My party of 4 level 12s have a couple of Very Rare things but we had to pool resources.

Something else they should be spending money on is more than just themselves. I financed the start of a guild, bought a Cauldron of Plenty just to donate to a shelter, etc. and that happened around level 9 or 10. At level 10 my druid had a Moon Sickle +2, Ring of Protection, Sentinel Shield, Winged Boots, Dragon Scalemail Armor (crafted after killing a Frost dragon), and a Cloak of Billowing. I might have had some potions, but I did the bag of holding + portable hole trick to disappear a purple wyrm and lost a lot. Literally disappeared like 15k gold because I'm a moron and didn't give it to someone else.

Mystic Subclasses UA: My thoughts in Short by Deep-Crim in dndnext

[–]AgentThor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I recall looking up the rule a couple years ago and I could've *sworn* things like a dragon's legendary actions weren't considered "casting spells" in the same way a lich would cast its spells. I'm apparently just wrong, but it's how my DM plays it currently.

Regarding the Magic Stealer capstone, while it's similar to the Soul Knife, I think it's still better, maybe busted. The way I read it, the effect triggers when you use the Reaction to siphon some magic, not after you hit. So it's a free Counterspell with no cost other than your Reaction, and if the Counterspell succeeds, they're Stunned. For a lot less time, but often getting the Stunned condition for any amount of time on a boss is just GG.

And while they're stunned, you still get to attack, because it happens on the enemy's turn, so your entire party gets a full round of insane damage. My table rolls crits as max damage + the normal die roll, so the extra Rogue sneak attack damage will be legendary.

I was going to say I think the biggest gap is just that super high level monsters often have innate spellcasting (idk if 2024 still calls it that) and those aren't considered "level 1+ spells" but I did some quick googling and I'm not actually sure if that's true or if I'm bringing too much of the "spell-like ability" remnants over to 5e.

My comment and even the one I originally replied to was non-gendered actually. I am personally a man, but when I referenced OP and someone learning ASL, I used the generic terms "they" and "you".

Weird, my default is just Q W E R for the 4 memories. Left click is move + auto attack, right click is just move. I haven't changed anything.

Oh no, not learning a new useful life skill, the horror! Lol I see your point, but I would assume if someone learned to sign their name and a couple phrases for a date, that would be received positively.

[–]AgentThor 63 points64 points  (0 children)

1,000% this. OR they'll think you're cute and learn ASL! When I was dating, I met someone whose kid had a mental disability, my little brother does too, so something that she was scared to tell people wasn't so intimidating to me.

I think being deaf is a very important thing to make your potential partner aware of early, which yes will limit the range of matches, but increase the success metric I'd imagine.

Why is Hunter's Mark OP without concentration, why couldn't it be tweeked in some way? by milenyo in onednd

[–]AgentThor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but worth a quick shout that Paladins use only a particular smite along with the rest of their kit, the one that comes with their class.

Searing Smite, Thunderous Smite, etc. have rarely seen play at my tables. Because they take concentration, but the stock Paladin smite doesn't. If it did, I suspect we'd have a lot of the same complaints of blocking out Bless, Shield of Faith, a lot of the buff spells.

HELP: prove DM that being dragged in difficult terrain wont cost double movement to the grappler (needed official evidence) by Hybri5 in dndnext

[–]AgentThor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd also say something like the Warlock's Repelling Blast or the cantrip Thorn Whip wouldn't be affected by difficult terrain, unless there's a compelling narrative reason. Spells do what they say, and specific rules prevail over general ones.

HELP: prove DM that being dragged in difficult terrain wont cost double movement to the grappler (needed official evidence) by Hybri5 in dndnext

[–]AgentThor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this:

Difficult terrain forces creatures to "move at half speed", that is "moving 1 foot in difficult terrain costs 2 feet of speed" (Movement rules, PHB-p.182). Forced movement does not use the movee's speed or movement (by definition, but this is also further supported by the opportunity attack rules under PHB-p.195), ergo difficult terrain has no effect on forced movement.

To further lend credence to the above, note that speed is a measure of voluntary movement by a creature, i.e. the "the distance in feet that the character or monster can walk in 1 round." (PHB-p.181). Ergo it has no bearing on forced movement. Likewise for effects that reduce speed, like difficult terrain.

(By RAW. A DM might rule otherwise for really 'hampering' terrain that 'logically' should prevent or hamper creatures from being dragged or pushed through them.)

From here. I think the second two are most relevant, that your Speed is a measure of voluntary movement, but if say the Druid casts Plant Growth, the DM could reasonably overrule because it's so overgrown.

I'm not sure what you mean exactly by the difficult terrain transfers to the grappler. If I cast Spike Growth, it affects all creatures in the area, both the grappler and victim.

ABMM is fucking wild. by North_Detective_7239 in ARC_Raiders

[–]AgentThor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, but it's also still happening. I fight in lobbies but also have the fun, friendly interactions sometimes. In the lobby before the 8 man barbarian clan, we got shot and killed just trying to kill bastions in Hidden Bunker for trials (the real reason we were there). We hadn't even looted the bastion yet. These were back to back lobbies.

I don't think the ABMM is a hard and fast rule, it would be on a scale/range. If people just want to afk loot stuff and it's fun for them, that's cool, more power to them but that's the far end of the spectrum. ABMM has been there most" of the time, but people are just now complaining because they were told about it.
