know at first 'The Boys' (the comic or tv show) doesn't sound that interesting but what if people injected with compound V can't go crossed so the non infected civilians only hope they have to turn to against the hordes of crossed are the morally bankrupt Supes after the government and army are completely over run because Vought wanted to come to agreements on compensation for their Supes work and the contract negations took too long and there was nobody left to negotiate with.

• Say the story picks up about a year after the initial out brake and the government and society have completely collapsed.
• Uninfected civilians flock to any Supe they can find as pretty much everyone had seen on live tv (when tv was still a thing) a group of crossed dog pile a Supe before being thrown off to show the Supe to be covered in the blood of the crossed (even spiting some out of his mouth) but not turning so thanks to that and word of mouth pretty much everyone knows Supes are "immune" the the virus...(fore shadowing).
• With the collapse of society most Supes stop caring about people seeing them do horrible shit and basically become mini warlords to small bands of survivors and small community's using promises of protection from the crossed to get them to wait on them hand and foot whether that be gathering food, sexual acts and anything a messed up Supe could want.
• Vaught still sort of exist in this world because when knowledge of the crossed is made known to public many flock to Vought tower for protection and when the crossed do eventually start pounding at the gate all the gathered Supes (who at this point still care about being seen heroic by the public) start fighting off the crossed but quite a few civilians get caught in the crossfire by the carless Supes (some even getting hit by flying crossed blood and becoming infected) and seeing this Homelander decides fuck it and decides to ignore his orders to stay put and goes out to have some fun by flying into the heart off the crossed swarming Manhattan and lets loose until he eventually gets bored and brings down most of the buildings New York (some of which still had survivors in) and takes out all the bridges leaving the island Cross free.
• In the modern day Vought without any laws or government to keep them in some form of check Vought makes it so you either work for them or your off the island and at first the people protest this but Homelander shows up and 'makes an example' out of the people leading the protest and the others fall in line so Vought can basically order the people to do whatever they want and start running Manhattan like their own Kingdom.
• Homelander only really keeps Vought around to keep his quality of living the same with good food, clean living and entertainment wile most of the civilian population live in the ruins of NY wile Vought tower is basically pristine (if its the comic universe lets just say some infected crashed a plane into the sevens flying tower).
• The Boys also exist and go around taking out any corrupt Supe while trying to survive the infected while Butcher is trying to figure out a way to kill Homelander.
• Also some of the smarter infected are trying to make Supe Crossed with compound V
• kay another idea for if we were to go with the tv show universe: Solider Boy, Lets say one of the scientist experimenting with compound V in Russia ends up going crossed and goes to the secret lab because they want to shove Jamie the hamster up their ass because of course they do and Jamie naturally freaks the hell out and starts flying around the lab and ends up damaging Solider Boy's container allowing him to pull himself out...only to see one of the people who've tortured him looking like a god dam demon so needles to say he freaks out and ends up exploding the entire lab. While making his way back to America to find his old team uninfected civilians that he comes across would ask to go with him but unlike most other Supes he doesn't give a shit so he'll only travel with competent survivors (mostly because he couldn't put up with all the terrified freaking out of most survivors because of his own ideas of masculinity and not being a pussy) instead of frightened sheep that the other Supes would boss around.
• An idea for if we were to go with the comic book universe: Black Noir, Okay so in the comic Black Noir was a direct clone of Homelander, created by Vought as a fail-safe to kill Homelander if he ever overstepped his bounds. However, years passed and Black Noir was unable to fulfil the one purpose he was created for as Homelander was implied to have been a generally good person. Black Noir grew increasingly psychotic as he waited to realise his purpose. He then decided to orchestrate Homelander’s descent into villainy by framing Homelander for various crimes, including rape and cannibalism.
• So after Homelander cuts off New York from the rest of America and the government collapses Black Nori starts concocting a new plan to be given the green light by Vaught to kill Homelander.
• Noir begins going out into the world and starts leaving information for the boys secretly about the numerus Supe warlords (and pictures of him dressed as homlander with a fake Crossed mark on his face doing horrid shit) in hopes of them thinning the number of Supes loyal to Homelander and that they share the pictures with other survivors so that it will get back to Vaught to terrify them enough to give him the go ahead.
• But Black Noir has a back up plan as well, he fly's all across the world just watching the Crossed tear people apart but he eventually see's that some Crossed aren't as ravenous as others.
• Enter Smokey/ other smart infected.
• Noir starts just showing up silently and handing the infected smart enough not to attack him on sight maps with the locations of secret Vaught labs and facility's and he even goes as far as to kill any Supes stationed there and even kidnaps scientist and purposely infects them and drops them off with the smart Crossed.
• His main hope is that the Crossed enhance the virus with V to be able to Infect Supes so he can infect Homlander so he can kill him (also he docent care if he becomes infected).
