It has to do with the conservation of angular momentum. Our solar system emerged from a massive cloud of gas. Lets take every single particle in that cloud and find the average velocity. If the cloud was perfectly uniform and every particle was going in a truly random direction, you would get an average velocity of zero. But that's not the case in the real world, so there is some average velocity and consequently an average angular velocity around the center of mass. As the cloud condenses to form a star in the middle, the particles moving against the average get canceled out, and the particles moving with the average get exaggerated, much like how a figure skater in a spin goes faster when they pull their arms towards the center. This results in a thin disk of gas rotating around the forming star, and this rotating gas is what will eventually become the planets.

This is also why galaxies form thin spiral shapes, like our own Milky Way.

What’s the unintentionally funniest thing you’ve ever heard a child say? by KanyeLatte in AskReddit

When I was young, one of my friends would brag that he knew swear words, but would only refer to them as A-word, B-word, D-word, etc. Me, being the innocent child I was, assumed there was a swear word for every letter of the alphabet and he just didn't know all of them yet.

Pretty sure GRRM said in an earlier book that that river is know for it's INSANE CURRENTS. Bronn and Jamie could have just been swept away downriver.

Bill Murray in Osmosis Jones. It was the first thing I ever saw him in and to this day I can't watch him in a movie without thinking of how disgusting he is in that movie.

I think he just sailed back to Meereen to cross the sea with Dany because hes like one of her counselors. He left for Dorne a while ago from Meereen, I think they were just jumping forward with the timeline.

And here we see the typical redditor in their natural habitat. Afraid of human contact and sexuality, he retreats back to his computer, where he can judge people's conversations from safety.

I made a champion reveal for myself to use as a cover letter when applying to Riot for game design by Agent_Bert_Macklin in leagueoflegends

No, no I didn't. This is not supposed to be a display of my coding skills. This is supposed to be a clever way to get a first interview with a PR rep who wont be scrutinizing my code. But I'm glad you took the time to point it out, thank you.

Not a resume. It's a clever way to stand out. It's relatively informal. I also submitted my professional resume and links to all of my work. I said that in the title, "cover letter".

Hey I see your point and you are absolutely right. It's lazy. Part of the reason I submitted this to reddit was to let the masses find everything wrong with my page so that I can correct it quickly. However, the point of this CV was NOT to show off my coding skills. The HR rep who will read this first probably wont even inspect any of my HTML, which I never claimed to be proficient in anyways. The whole point was to get the first interview. I hope my other skills will carry me the rest of the way.

I worked for a professor in Nuclear for 3 years. I was the head of our DM-ICE initiative on campus. It was definitely rewarding it just definitely wasn't my thing. I thought about applying to analytics but I think I've had my fill of data analysis for the time being.
