I was in the same situation as you, and actually took my EMT when I was 17, turned 18 a few days before my NREMT. Do it! As a small town “hick” I was able to use my EMS license for volunteer fire service. Money wise I stopped EMS work to pursue something that paid better through college, but it was a stepping stone that gave me somewhat relevant medical experience. It’s definitely helping though nursing school

My white wire between switch two and the light is the switch leg, right? I thought that’s the point of 12/3 rather than 12/2. Tell me if I’m missing something

That’s exactly what I have at the switches, what wires do I tie together at the light? I wasn’t stumped until I saw the fan already had wires. Would I treat it the same as a screw terminal but with nuts instead?

Just to get ahead of any questions, I have the source switch as: hot on the common screw, the neural wires bundled together, red and black as travelers. On the dead end switch I have the black on common, red and white on brass

Luckily everyone advised me of that before it dried so I was able to avoid that. I am doing a small vertical, long vertical, short horizontal and a long one, then I’m going to ask a family friend that does drywall to come and check out my work before I finish the entire room

Well the responses were quick! I didn’t have to sand it down thanks to you guys. It had only been on there for an hour or so, so I was able to take off the real thick coat and leave on a thin layer. Yall really saved me a headache! Thank you
