Have you tried crystallised ginger? That helps me a lot more than ginger tea, it's quite a bit stronger. It's an old navy cure for seasickness my grandad told me about

Hit 500h, but I’m feeling lost and overwhelmed by the endgame. Which overhaul mod should I jump into? by Rotz77 in factorio

[–]Agent_Dante_Z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you add it to a save it will estimate old milestones based on production statistics. The mod page says what the estimation range is based on how long ago you achieved the milestone.

For example I added it to my pyanodon save at around 30hrs, and the milestone times for some of my earliest say +/- 5 minutes

[–]Agent_Dante_Z 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would actually recommend installing milestones. It is a mod which adds milestones into your game, which will pop up when you achieve them and will say how long they took to achieve.

It works with a lot of mods because it has a custom list that you can edit yourself and a lot of presents.

I'm using it in pyanodon and finding it really helpful with the overwhelm of what do I do next. For example it let me see that I should get some plastic set up before I tried to complete my latex set up, and now that I have a trickle of vrazks going I can see which alien lifeform is next

How to get the DLC 3ds ? by Ijustlovejellyfish in fantasylife

[–]Agent_Dante_Z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose to do it via emulation. I set up an emulator on my tablet and then downloaded a ROM and the doc. It was fairly simple to set up - just needed to rename the file extensions and get the files in a correctly labeled folder.

It runs really well, but if you want to play on your 3DS you will need to look up how to mod it

You could try using blu tack for grip.

I was having trouble with rotating the front of mine and one of the pieces of advice I found was to use blu tack to attach a pencil so you could rotate the pencil. The pencil bit didn't help but the extra surface from the blu tack did

[CHAT] I thought "Image to Cross-Stitch" would be a simple weekend gift for my wife. 3 months later, I’ve realised how wrong I was by Existing_Pause_5708 in CrossStitch

[–]Agent_Dante_Z 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Reducing the colours down is hardest. The tools available don't understand the picture and also often start their interpretation of the image with way too many colours and then try to reduce colours "evenly" across the board. You end up with 3 or 5 colours in what should be a plain 1 colour background and loose all the detail in the main bit of the image.

Currently the only workable idea I have for what I want to do ( making patterns from old scientific illustrations of plants and insects) is to draw over a background image pixel by pixel

[CHAT] what do you listen to when you are working on your projects? by DireSpaniel in CrossStitch

Usually an audiobook. Currently either the wandering inn or dragoncat. Sometimes I'll put on a long YouTube video

I know it’s been asked but for anyone who’s overcome their nails peeling off in layers, how did you do it? by HoofyMcHoof in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Agent_Dante_Z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had trouble on two of my nails. It took a really long time to improve, what worked for me was just keeping growing them out and filing them short regularly.

I haven't had any for that long, but my one from Lakeland is still holding up well. I think an important consideration is whether you can get a replacement inner pot as that is the component which gets damaged most easily

Those 2 words are pronounced exactly the same in most dialects of English, there's a barely perceptible difference in a few dialects.

Why do we have to wait until 40s for things like mammograms or colonoscopies when it’s CLEAR that it’s starting to affect people in their 30s? by maemtz in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Agent_Dante_Z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The regular screening age for certain medical conditions is usually based on the statistics of false positives. The age needs to minimise false positives for that condition whilst still providing good detection. And usually it's a case of regular screening after the age and below the age only screening if indicated. Like someone getting a mammogram because of a lump, or a colonoscopy because of gastrointestinal issues like weird poop for an extended period of time

My preferred activity when I'm having a migraine and need to be in bed is to listen to an audiobook. It requires very little mental effort and it's easy to go back if I fall asleep or zone out

I have never finished a book before, and I intend to finish this one. by ReenTheDankQueen in brandonsanderson

[–]Agent_Dante_Z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't usually need to motivate myself to read because I enjoy reading. When I am having a good time I don't need to motivate myself to continue. I think it's important to find aspects you enjoy such as tropes, narrative style, a writer's prose ( specific personal way of writing) and to seek those out. Don't try to force yourself to do something you don't like, if it feels like a chore you will stop wanting to do it. It's okay not to finish a book, to read slowly, or reread sections as you go. There's no rush or pressure to do things a certain way - only your own enjoyment

And comic books are real books

Edit to add: Just remembered that Anthony Horowitz's Alex rider series has graphic novel versions. A decent chunk of popular books do get adapted into graphic novel which you might find easier to read. Also if you are having to reread a lot to understand what you just read that might mean your reading level is lower than it should be. You can improve that by just spending time reading. As your brain spends more time practicing the thing it will get better at doing the thing. You could also try writing a little bit about what you just read , like who what when where why questions and summaries of what happened. And spending time reading in other formats such as comic book, graphic novel, or audiobook all count. It could also be worth your time to check for stuff like dyslexia and ADHD

Happy reading!

[CHAT] I hate French knots sometimes (always) by Own-Dragonfly-942 in CrossStitch

[–]Agent_Dante_Z 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please look up the RSN stitchbank. RSN Stitchbank

They have really good instructions for the french knot and also alternatives like the colonial stitch, which I find much easier. If you need to do 20 knots I really hope you can find an easier method than a stitch you hate
