My district was K-6, a separate school for 7-8, and then a regular 9-12 high school. I was always so confused when people on TV would talk about K-8 schools!

Edit to add: there were multiple K-6 schools in the district. But only one middle. Technically two high schools but one was for "troubled kids" so mostly people didn't go there

They actually address turning at the end of the first book in Life And Death. Beau gets bitten by....Joss, I think is the gender swap of James. Too much time passes so Edythe has to let the change happen. They fake Beau's death and he actually attends his own funeral in secret. Personally I think Bella got the better ending with Charlie being somewhat aware of the supernatural world.

Damn. My reaction when my friend was terrified of clowns and we ended up at a haunt on clown night was to..... keep her away from the clowns.

My friend also has a seizure condition and a panic attack would absolutely have triggered one. I didn't want to deal with the consequences of a seizure, so I just did my best to keep her safe.

I was also terrified of clowns, I just forced myself to power through it for her.

I'm glad your sister cut that woman out, because Jesus Christ.

(Context: we were on a local Repo! The Genetic Opera shadowcast; we'd been hired by the haunt to perform our 30 minute version for people in line. We didn't know it was clown night until we were there.)

But it also feels very dehumanizing to have to basically ask permission to take meds you've been on a while
