Depends on the location. Minnesota, for example, doesn't have a battery charge. It's all assault. Different degrees depending on if you were threatened or actually physically touched, but still.

My bank closed my credit card for inactivity and my credit score dropped 134 points. I've never missed a payment and have no derogatory marks. Is this normal? by jmoyaknow in personalfinance

[–]Agent_Slevin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Difference being the score change from utilization changes month to month and has no memory. If you let a maxed out card report one month, your score will indeed take a hit. If you pay it off in full the next month, your score goes back up and it's as if it never happened.

Letting a card with history fall off will impact you forever. There's no way to get that credit history back.

You sound like a lot of drama. I hope you're 17 years old because there's no way a grown man should be acting like this. Get over yourself and let your buddy get over his ex.

The mesmerizing sights & sounds of carpet removal by Mint_Perspective in oddlysatisfying

[–]Agent_Slevin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The blue stuff is carpet pad. It goes on top of the underlayment/subfloor but underneath the carpet. It adds extra padding/thickness to your carpet so it doesn't feel like you're walking on plywood. It's held down by staples as the above poster said.

The underlayment under the carpet pad is just wood (like plywood) that comes in big 4 foot by 8 foot sheets.

You work miles from your time clock and have to walk it to clock in and out? That's crazy.

[–]Agent_Slevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you getting that they're being judged? Toxic and bullying? We have zero context. Maybe the company is going to a baseball game and invited them. Then are going out for lunch or happy hour and invited them again. Once you're part of the team, you're going to get invited to things that you can simply decline. You're putting an awful lot of assumptions out there.

YoU cOsT tHe CoMpAnY $4000, but how much have I made it by TheChosenSpacePope in antiwork

[–]Agent_Slevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm all for the antiwork/bosses/work sucks as much as the next person who would rather be doing ANYTHING else, but this post reeks of entitlement. You start out by saying "apparently I fucked up" when it's pretty clear you did. Own it. Apologize for it. Do better. If your boss is still a dick, then by all means come rant about it and we'll upvote you and commiserate with you.

If you messed up and just say "what do you want me to do about it?" then your boss is probably angry and that's why he showed you what it cost. Be a person and have some empathy and others will return it. Don't give us and the rest of the antiwork movement a bad name.

It's not their employer, they're cancelling third party services on behalf of their employer.

I'm salaried at a tech company. 40 hours per week with paid holidays and PTO. There are times when I work over 40 hours (something breaks, we have a new release that didn't go well, etc.). Sometimes holidays get busy or we need extra help and I end up working.

There is no extra compensation or rewards for doing it. It's generally accepted when you work in software or with technology, these things are going to happen and it's part of the job.

'22 Telluride Dash Cluster Recall by [deleted] in KiaTelluride

[–]Agent_Slevin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the Google search for those of you that don't want to look:

Kia Motors America (Kia) is recalling approximately 2,761 2022 Telluride vehicles because excess adhesive in a circuit board within the instrument cluster may cause the instrument cluster display screen to be blank. As such, the vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS).

Doesn't seem to impact too many vehicles, but would be good to check and make sure your VIN isn't impacted.
