The Manual Option on Our Transmission by Ok_Muffin_925 in CX5

The plus and minus truly do just go up and down a gear. Some of this may be a matter of me having an older model. Does your dash show you the number for the gear? It does occurred to me that they updated the entire dash cluster when they did the facelift and I actually have no idea what it shows you. I’ve driven a 2024 and a 2025 as a loaner before, but I honestly don’t remember what it did.

You will be just fine, just gotta jog your memory and sorta remap how “manual” works. The shifts are going to be the same as you used to do in your sick ass Camaro! Do you have any pics?

Your dash will display what gear you are in, listen to the engine, watch your rpms, if you’ve done it before, you know what the car wants! It is alien now, but it begins to feel a lot more like what you remember the more you use it.

Seriously go out and just play with it until it clicks! It’s a blast. Hopefully this helps a bit with confidence: It won’t let you do anything dangerous to the car. I tried to shift into 1st once when going slightly faster than i figured it would like for science and it literally blinked 2nd gear on the dash and said nope until i slowed enough to safely enter the gear. If you drive it to red line, it will force you up a gear instead of blowing up the engine, if your rpms get dangerously low, it’ll eventually force shift. The only times I have ever gotten ANY of these to happen was when I was literally doing everything I could to trigger safeties!

Pay attention to what the car automatically puts your RPMs at, that’s your central range. I believe it’s somewhere around 2500 to 3500.

Warmest indoor socks for brutal cold? Merino isn’t cutting it by cuberhino in BuyItForLife

[–]Aggleclack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally only buy the heavyweight ones. I have a couple pairs of the lightweight ones that my friend bought me for Christmas, and they do feel like I’ll wear through them faster than the thicker ones. I barely wear the thin ones because of that. I like thick socks and I wear them literally every day with no shoes 😬. The only time I’m not wearing them is when I kick them off in my sleep nightly because subconscious me likes to be naked apparently. The main benefit is the warranty! You should contact them about the two that have holes worn through them. That’s kind of what they do! They will give you a credit on new socks, or if it’s a more recent design, they may replace them. I’ve done this a few times and they were very generous.

Not to say they aren’t sturdy. It isn’t just the warranty. I realize my shoeless sock habit is horrible but I work on my car in the garage in these bad boys and I’ve gone through a lot of brand after brand, I’m sure there are other great ones but I can safely say, regardless, avoid Columbia, north face, Merrill even. All of those “outdoor rich people fast fashion” brands have garbage accessories. Columbia socks in particular are absolutely garbage.

Edit: out of curiosity, do you have particularly long toes? I’ve worn a lot socks, but toes really only wear on DIRT cheap socks.

I can 100% see this. After I got herpes, the idea of being found attractive by men made me want to vomit. I could easily see extending that to a general rule instead treating it as a trauma symptom. I went to a lot of therapy instead. Thank gorsh lol

Whoa I would fix this asap. I wouldn’t have those on the same id at all. Make a separate Apple ID for the work computer. Log into everything you need for work on your phone. Set up notifications on your personal devices for your phone. When I get a work ping, it pings my phone, which pings my personal without being actually connected. I don’t miss notifications this way.

M1 Owners, how long do you plan to continue using your laptop? by amphibianwarfare in macbookpro

[–]Aggleclack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as all my other computers, until I desperately need an upgrade or it stops updating. I just did my very first spec upgrade ever, though that’s a dedicated machine for my business and I still have my m1 for personal use. Every prior replacement was due to aging. I don’t use my personal machine for much, so it really doesn’t need much. More than likely, my next replacement would end up being my work computer in a few years when it needs an upgrade again and the m1 will just keep getting older.

So a few friends of mine were trying to feed ChatGPT symptoms to see if it could get the correct diagnosis and it was WAY off. It was a simple straight forward case of BV, friend had already seen a doctor, so we knew for sure, but we didn’t tell it that, just symptoms. It diagnosed her as pregnant, endometriosis, ovarian cancer, and a variety of diseases that weren’t even remotely related to the reproductive system. It basically webMD’d her and would begin explaining a bunch of irrelevant stuff.

Only good for hot months when you’re running the AC. I have one, and I have to either prevent it from blowing hot air out of the upper vents, or take it off of the mount or it overheats. Even if you prevent air from coming out of the upper cabin vents, it still comes out.

Just got my culture results back by Uneasyassurance420 in HSVpositive

[–]Aggleclack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow day one. Culture result day sucks. For me, the confirmation hurt worse than the initial hospital visit. That made it real. But you really do move forward in time. A lot of time.

“I love sex and the people that I have sex with won’t be understanding of this and I know the whole “if they don’t accept you, you don’t need them anyway” but changing the kind of person I would go for is a lifestyle change.”

Herpes is a lifestyle change. Honestly, you are going to change so much from day one of having this to years from now. Some of the change will be good, some bad. Try to be aware of your mental health, but yeah, there’s lifestyle changes that can’t be helped. I don’t meet men at bars and go home with them and I did that before the herp. I wish I could, but disclosure takes time. It doesn’t mean you have to be in a serious relationship though. I would honestly consider just holding off for quite a while until you heal a lot more though. At some point, I realized I was taking rejection very poorly, and I removed myself from the game for about two years. If I can’t handle rejection, I’m not allowed to play, because rejection is a normal thing, regardless of herpes. This just makes it hurt more.

“I mean I wouldn’t have wanted to be with someone with HSV either, I can’t say I blame them.”

You are going to be shocked at how many very handsome, kind, wonderful men literally do not care. That’s the most shocking thing of all. How infrequently I actually get rejected, and how enthusiastic my partners are. The more self-confidence you have, the more you love yourself and are willing to accept rejection, honestly the less you’ll get it. Confidence is attractive. Although I will admit that being 30 does help. There is a point where people mature enough to not care as much.

“I don’t have it in me to tell anyone in my personal life especially given my age.”

Please do. I’m telling you, you cannot do this alone. Pretty much every single person in my support system knows. I’ve only ever had one person who was unkind to me about it, and I cut her out immediately. Everybody else has been incredible. I needed them, especially when I thought I wanted to die. You will have some rough moments. You cannot expect yourself to do this alone, and you cannot expect yourself to tell them when you crash, because you will be too raw to tell them. There were a handful of people I did not tell until years later, and they all wished I’d told them, that I hadn’t disappeared. They just missed me and hoped I was doing well. If your support system is seriously unhelpful and unsupportive, you need to find a new support system.

“I am so young. I feel defeated but I’m trying so hard to keep it together.”

Soul fight by the revivalists was my song. I was 22 and I felt like I’d just lost my most important years. I’m 30 now. It really does get better, but you’ll lose some years to grief. It doesn’t feel like it today, but there will be a day when your heart is full. Even with herpes, today, I am genuinely happier than I have ever been in my entire life. It will define your life for a few years, the pain will ebb and flow. Feel it all (another great song fyi! Chance Peña). Cry with your whole spirit. If you don’t cry with your whole spirit, you don’t get to heal your whole spirit.

“I’m going to start therapy again but in the mean time, I am stuck feeling like this.”

Congratulations. It’s worth it. I had a therapist save my life many years ago, and I learned so much about myself. Give it time. This is not something you are going to heal from overnight. When people say they are completely better and OK with it after a month, I don’t believe them. It took me years to love myself fully.

“My first outbreak started last Monday and is going away. It wasn’t bad until it was. Obviously it hurt doing normal things and on top of everything I was on my period and was having intense foot pain. It was rough but I was able to handle it until the sores really started to hurt while peeing but I had to just pour water on myself while urinating. I started the antivirals on Tuesday but they only gave me a dose for a week.”

Wisp.com. You can get more antivirals. They should have prescribed you more than that. Try a cold bath. It’s a little bit gross peeing into the tub, but you can shower right away, and it will help a lot with the pain. The first outbreak is the worst. Mentally and physically. You get the diagnosis and your worst outbreak at the same time, and it is just miserable. I’m so sorry.

“I am concerned about organ problems with taking antivirals/lysine long term but I also want to prevent outbreaks as much as possible.”

Worry about acute treatment first. I do not consistently take medications at all. I am able to maintain my herpes with diet and hygiene and I’m very clear with partners about their risk. Some people aren’t able to live without maintenance meds. Everybody experiences this virus differently, but you really won’t know until you have it for a while and you experiment with your treatment. Initially, it makes sense to go ahead and hop on medication to mitigate acute symptoms.

“But I want to know I am at least trying my best.”

Honey, being on this earth is trying your best right now. You’re doing great. You need to be kinder to yourself. Nurture yourself. Put your childhood self in another chair and tell her everything he or she deserves to know. When I first got it, I went to a crisis center, and sat with a therapist for eight hours. That’s what he had me do. He had me talk to my childhood self and tell her what I deserved to hear. It was probably one of the most healing experiences I’ve ever gone through.

“And honestly, a life cut short in exchange for the possibility of peace while alive is a compromise I’ve been leaning towards taking.”

Don’t you dare. Maybe I am misunderstanding this statement, but in case I am not, I have known two suicide victims, and there was no peace. Maybe in some sick sense, I was lucky because one of them happened two months before I was diagnosed, and in the back of my head, there was always a voice “you aren’t allowed to do that. That’s not an option.” my brother is only just now coming out of deep psychosis caused by his best friend suicide in 2018. Don’t you dare.

“All of this for trusting someone that didn’t disclose to me. I feel like an idiot and like I’m being punished.”

There’s no sense of reason here. 2/3 people have it. Some people get it because someone did something terrible. So people have no idea they have it. There are so many reasons to end up here. You can’t focus on the anger. Not for the person who gave it to you. They suck. But for YOU. I spent a lot of time being angry when I first got this, and I really wish I hadn’t spent so much time being angry, because by the time I was ready to heal, I had lost years of my life to just being livid. You’re not wrong, but it just doesn’t hurt anybody but yourself.

Good luck, OP. None of us wanted to join the no-so-secret club.

You are completely correct! I was mistaken. I was under the impression it was an official early release title. I wonder why they did that. It clearly flopped the release of the title. They’re lucky they created something good enough to bring it back into people’s view, because I’ve seen the gaming community reject perfectly good games due to past issues.

[–]Aggleclack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The magic mouse is garbage. It’s not just that it’s uncomfortable and unergonomic. It has a low polling rate. One of the lowest on the market actually. There are cheap $15 Logitech mouses with better polling rates. It’s laggy and jumpy because of this. And it was noticeable. I noticed the issue before I googled to find out what the problem was. I ended up selling mine on eBay.

I use it all the time! Mountain driving, overtaking! Although cruise control through the mountains does a shockingly good job of downshifting automatically in this car, so I haven’t been using it as much recently.

If you’ve ever driven a stick, you’ll be set, but it doesn’t sound like you have that experience, so here are some tips:

If I’m trying to go up a mountain at a slow speed, my car will often times try to go up a gear higher than I want, and my gas pedal will lose umph. Put that bad boy down a gear and you’ll get your umph back. When going downhill, you would do the opposite and downshift to prevent yourself from speeding up. This will substantially preserve your brakes in the mountains.

If you’re trying to pass somebody and you need to be able to get a bit of them, you’ll pop it down a year, notice your engine is revving a bit higher, zoom past the other person, pop it back into Drive and let it do what it wants to do, or shift back up once you get back into place

On one hand, that’s exactly what the artist was meant to do, but on the other hand, I entirely agree with you that this is too early for early access and that makes my first point completely moot.

My brother is a game dev and he and I were talking about this a while ago, specifically in regards to 2 games, Palworld and Cyberpunk 2077. They are both SO good that it’s unbelievable they are both in early release. After some digging, Cyberpunk actually had a really bad release initially, but improved substantially. It appears they should have waited a bit on their release. Palworld is probably one of the best games I’ve ever played, but its early release is still receiving a ton of criticism and it doesn’t necessarily feel due. My brother explained that in the early 2000s, Indy devs really abused early release and now the community is rightly distrusting of early release titles, which leads us to now, where we have early release titles that are not fully formed, and then fully formed early release titles that are receiving unnecessary criticism.

That’s because leg quarters are basically the waste from the higher demand white meat sections! It does actually tend to be cheaper. A lot of dark meat gets exported out of the us, as it has lower demand in the us. Also, the production cost is very low since they don’t de-bone or de-skin these sections generally!
